Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

alright guys, im gonna be a pain here.... im on the verge of rehoming a couple of my chickens that i think are cockerels but i need to be super certain. they are pretty birds, i dont want to rehome them and find out they are pullets

so please confirm. Red: comb says cockerel. its red, its got 3 rows. but ive read that that doesnt always mean cockerel. Red is not very roo like. doesnt strut, tail is NEVER up, always down and the feathers all seem to be rounded, no pointy ones, no attitude and no crow (pretty quiet bird actually). i think Red is around 10 weeks. Here is Rue again. such mixed reviews on this one. so much so that i will still probably hold onto it until im positive. i know black/whites usually mean roo, but this chicken is super feminine. small pink comb but almost looks to be 3 rows... smaller than the other chickens of the same age. just doesnt seem very rooster like at all... i do think this is a roo, but just want to confirm again. this guy is about 15 weeks old and is pretty chatty. big comb, but is not red, very pink/pale and single row. this guy might be going away tomorrow, unless by some miracle its a pullet not a cockerel? im pretty doubful on him, but because he is probably leaving tomorrow, just wanted a double check. and lastly, i just want to verify that this is in fact a pullet? i just get these bad feelings that its a roo and i have so many roos right now! i really need it to be a pullet! lol but if it is a roo, ill be contacting the woman i got this one and the one above from and hopefully she will let me swap! THANK YOU guys so much! i am so thankful for this forum, i really am. its a newbies best friend

At this point the only for sure cockerel is Red. The black and white bird could very well be molting so it's hard to say for sure yet, I would hold on to it for a few more weeks. The black bird doesn't look like it has any pointy hackle or saddle feathers coming in which it should at 15 weeks if it were a roo and the comb is not super red, I'm going with pullet on that one. And the last one is very much a pullet with that coloring.

Yes, THIS.

Black and white bird is most likely a pullet as the comb is tiny and the coloring is classically female.

Solid black looks like a pullet as well.

And I agree that the last one has pullet coloring.

So I'll say it too: Red is your only cockerel.

I'm going to disagree. That black does not scream boy to me YET.

First one is a boy. White and black looks to be a girl, and last one is a girl for sure.

thanks a ton guys! i really thought the black one was a roo, but i held onto it today because so many of you think its a pullet. and to those saying they dont see saddle or hackles, you are right, there are none yet even though its the largest chicken in the coop. my silkie/maran cockerel already has orange hackle and saddle feathers coming in and he is younger than this one (see below). if it turns out to be a roo, well, ill deal with it then =) regardless of gender, its not a very friendly chicken. hopefully it settles down and behaves.

thanks to everyone who replied to my post! much appreciated!

Glad you're holding on to her! Hopefully she'll get friendlier as she gets closer to the point of lay.

My little EE rooster is growing up some and changing a bunch! He still has crooked toes. but his colors are looking so pretty I thought I would share. It is hard to get a pic of him cuz he runs from me. lol
