Two weeks ago some said girl some boy.

Now at about nine weeks ... I'm hoping pullet. Got me stumped. Picked up at feed store as pullets. Red in wings ane now spreading but breast is getting black, comb small?????

That's a tough one. I'm leaning more towards cockerel because of the patchy coloring. The comb does look a bit small, but one of mine had me stumped because of a small comb too and ended up being a boy.

I have 3 Easter eggers who have me bewildered. LOL They are about 12-13 weeks old in these pics. They're about 17 weeks old now. No crowing BUT one of them, just today, started "submissive squatting" and hanging around the nesting boxes a lot. :)

Betsy is the dark one, on the left and Lucille Ball is the redheaded one, on the right. Betsy is the only one that has a beard. They're both a bit skittish but such pretty chickens. Betsy (left) has an attitude. She loves to chest bump and fan out her neck when ticked. Lucille Ball (right) is not as bold but still is skittish. Pay no attention to my photobombing Black Star, Copper. LOL

Another shot of Betsy (left). You can see her puffed out neck pretty well here. (12-13 weeks)

Sorry for the blurry pic. This one is Wheatly. She has more of a gray/blueish underside and a light red head. She isn't skittish at all. She's the one I'm 99.9% certain is a girl because, just today, she started "submissive squatting" and checking out the nesting boxes. :) She's about 17-18 weeks old now but was only 12-13 weeks in this picture.

Another shot of Lucille Ball (she's a little younger here, 12-13 weeks).

A great shot of Betsy (12-13 weeks)

This pic is more recent. Wheatly is on the left and Betsy is in the background. They're roughly 17 weeks here.

Thank you and I love this thread and this group! :)

UPDATE: Confirmation that Wheatly is a girl. She laid her 1st egg today (flock 1st too, along with Holly Hobbie, a RIR). Now, still waiting on Lucille Ball and Betsy. :)

quick question about one of my new 3 I purchased 5 weeks ago...roo or not?

no rust in wings or anywhere else...I know the other 2 are pullets, I have had them before, but not sure on this one...help!?

Im leaning towards roo. For the silvers, you should look for a white patch on the wing, not red. Do you have a better side view of the full body, not on an angle of it?

How old are they now? 17weeks? I am curious because I have 4 ...15 weeks old girls I am waiting on eggs. I know they lay at their own pace but just curious. My one girl Squeaky has been extra loud in the morning Bawking and talking away. Hopefully she is almost ready. She has mutured faster than he other 3.

here are a couple more shots...hope they are better, again 5 weeks old...I truly hope its not a roo...I sadly have at least 3 others at 10 weeks, I will hate to have to choose which to keep!

I'm hoping someone can help. We have a 4 and a half week-old EE chick who has sort of... never been like the others. Her (or his?) feathers are weird and kind of stick out; she's always been small and round; her wings are kind of awkward and short. She's not the greatest genetic specimen. Whatev. I love her anyway, because her personality is delightful. That said, her feathers are finally catching up to everyone else's, and the coloring is different. Plus, there's a comb coming in. And she has kind of stocky legs compared to the others... Is this a cockerel?

are you sure its an EE? What color are the legs? I can only think Frizzle...I don't own one, nor have I seen a chick of one...but the feathers do look odd, I am not seeing and cheek puffs though...what does the comb look like, a rose comb?

She has both cheek puffs and blue legs. She looks like the others, mostly, except for the goofy feathers. It's hard to tell what the comb looks like, because it's small. If you click on the pictures, they get much larger.
