Maybe Black australorp.Just a dumb question that I probably know the answer to: I have two EEs that lay light brown eggs. No idea what they're crossed with, they came out of some barnyard mix eggs that my brother bought at a livestock auction. Their combs are almost pea, but with a hint of single comb. Is it possible for them to "carry" the blue/green egg gene and pass it on to their offspring? Or are they just plain brown egg layers now and will only produce brown egg laying offspringView attachment 1031437 View attachment 1031439 ?
Everyone's EE's are so sweet! Here is my 10 week old EE, I can't wait until she starts laying. We also have a new baby EE, an olive egger and an ameraucana coming tomorrow from My Pet Chicken. We can't wait!
MIne from them arrived perky and healthy last Friday.
