I went in to get a pic and the nest box was all disheveled again. I looked down and found....I apologize if this has been asked on this thread already! We have 4 Easter Eggers that are 18 weeks and 1 day. Our lightest combed girl is pacing around acting like she's looking for a place to lay. She has been being more talkative today and she's making an absolute mess out of one of the nest boxes. I have been told that bright red, swollen combs/wattles are a sign of eminent laying as is the "squat". She doesn't seem to be meeting those requirements, but she's the only one in the nests and tossing stuff around like a mad woman. Should I be worried that something is wrong with her or should I assume she is getting ready to lay? I will post a pic of her shortly!

so... I guess the answer is not all Easter Eggers fit the traditional chicky mold, ha!
