Easter Egger Thread!

Hey! List anything about your Easter Eggers including name, personality, pictures, stories, ect. I just find that my brown EE hen is the sweetest hen in my flock of 6, and was wondering how the other Easter Eggers are. She follows me around, comes when I call "Easter Egger!", and she's always waiting for me to come back! On with the thread!

Mine is Emma.
She is super smart. Really sweet. Eats out of my hand. Comes when called follows me around yard and squats wings out and waits til I tussle her some and chortles when I do it. Cute. Still waiting for eggs from her. Any day now I hope

Easter Eggers (at least all the ones I have owned & met) are very friendly towards people when raised with humans. Mine have always loved attention too.

Below (top to bottom): Abby, one of my Easter Eggers. She lays beautiful green eggs with brown speckles. Mareeonna (my brother named him when he was little... thus the odd spelling). She layed cream/white eggs.

Note about the missing beard on Abby: She used to have one but after her last molt, she never got it back... She is free of external parasites. It is a little odd. I also have a Black Sexlink that did not grow in her downy feathers on her rump after molting... she was clean as a chicken can be. However, with the following year's molt, she regrew the feathers on her bottom. Hmmm...

I know they look different but they where both brown easter Eggers labeled "Americanas" in the feed store. Since easter Eggers are not a breed, they are not always the same.

Pic 2 is an easter egger defiantly. She is a pretty one too!
Pic 1 is not an easter egger but still very pretty! She greatly resembles a Golden Comet (also called Gold sexlinks, red buffs or Red Stars) but is unique so I am not positive that is what she is.

Your hens are ADORABLE! Missing beard, huh? This is my first time with chickens and I have a brown EE and I have this really pretty black and white EE bantam, she already has her beard, but the non-bantam doesn't.. Is that normal? Also, the larger EE has a bump at the top of her comb that just blocks out the normal comb.. Is that normal? I can try getting a picture. Can you imagine having a flock of EEs?

Mine is still a Pullet and we think she's a hen
Her name is Elsa and she is attached to the hip of her foster mom Lope (Gerta)
I just obtained her almost two mos ago and the dynamic is set - it's good she has a protector and role model Chicken such as an Australope but she and the other Pullet are cagey around humans as a result. Elsa is fairly small and docile but we love her and try as much as possible to get her more domesticated

She sure is very pretty! I guess it is hard to try to domesticate a chicken that hasn't been raised with humans, but I'm sure she'll come around! I have this Blue Cochin who I cuddled with and loved when she was a chick, but now she HATES being touched or held, but she will wearily eat out of your hand. My hens are only 4-5 months old, so they're still pretty small.
