I have an EE hen and she's been going up on the nesting boxes for 4 days now but only in there for a short amount of time and still no egg!!! She's my last freeloader and only EE so I'm anxious but she's not acting the same way my other hens did when they laid their first egg, I get excited then nothing, is this normal behavior for an EE hen? When should I actually expect an egg? I checked her and she is spread and ready

How is she behaving otherwise? How long is a short amount of time? What is she doing in there? Is she putting nest material on her back?
There's nothing particularly unique about when an EE will lay. They are all very different being hybrids.

Sometimes it's maybe 5 minutes sometimes maybe 10, she likes to scoot the other eggs that are already in there to other nesting boxes and she lays in there especially on the other eggs untill another hen comes in then she leaves , she's not acting much different than her typical behavior other than going in the nesting boxes more

the breed is, but lucky yours are friendly! Ours aren't. :smack
They aren’t even a breed. One of mine is very friendly, but the other is less social. It’s mainly due to the fact that as chicks I one was socialized more and therefore both turned out differently.

Mine is a white easter egger hand raised since two days old. She is a sweetheart but does NOT like to be held. I only have two birds in my flock that will tolerate being held. I'm unsure it's a breed thing really. They all have such unique personalities.
