EASTER EGGER

wh-wh-wh-WHAT?!
Easter Eggers are a hybrid between Amercaunas and a brown layer. They have no color standards or specific characteristics. This being said, they are barnyard mix and not a true breed. That’s why they vary even more in temperament than true breeds.

One of mine is very skittish and the other is one of most friendly chickens. EEs have no standards, so the statement “EEs tend to be skittish” has no truth to it at all.

Mine was kind of goofy for a few weeks until they finally started laying. One thing I noticed is as they came into maturity, they'd start submitting a few weeks before actually laying their eggs. The broody, the hanging out in the nesting box, the poking around in the wood chips etc. Give her a little more time. She'll be singing her head off one day soon here.

as far as personalities, each is different. I try to be friends with all mine, and 3 of the 4 will let me pick them up, ruffle them up, everything but one is very skittish, and will run at the drop of a hair, and they all were brought up the same really.

Mine is a white easter egger hand raised since two days old. She is a sweetheart but does NOT like to be held. I only have two birds in my flock that will tolerate being held. I'm unsure it's a breed thing really. They all have such unique personalities.

My two vary a lot. From looks, to personality.

This one is skittish:

And this one is very friendly:

False. An Ameraucana x Brown Layer is an EE. But not all EEs are Ameraucana x Brown Layers. An EE is a mix with Legbar, Araucana, or Ameraucana background. It doesn’t have to be a first gen cross either.
I was being very vague, I should not have worded it like that though. We are both still right I guess.
