i have been wondering about this also. we have 3 birds. RIR, amercauna, and a speckeled sussex. they are all 20 weeks on sunday. i havent finished the coop and run so they free range in the back yard. is there anything i can do to help facilitate the laying? maybe some nest boxes near where they roost?
thanks

I got my first EE egg when my EE's were 21 weeks and 2 days old. I've gotten one the same color (pale turquoise) every day since then. Yesterday when the girls were 22 weeks and 3 days old, I got a pale green egg for the first time. That means I have at least two that are laying. I get pale pinkish tan eggs and I'm not sure if they are from one of my EE's or not. I have a sneaking suspicion that they are! Although it could also be from my Buff Orp or one of my Black Sex-link pullets. This weekend, I'm going to try to spend some time out there so I can catch them laying and see who's laying which eggs for sure.
