Easter Eggers

All Easter Eggers, sorry. It happens a lot. Because hatcheries call them Americaunas/Ameraucanas/Araucanas - People buy from them, then breed them, for some reason never research that breed, and presto.

i have EEs that lay a bigger bluer egg than my wheaten ameraucanas and yes, they are pure.i know the wheatens carry both blue egg genes-from mom and dad.that is what is in question with the EEs,you just never know unless you bred them yourself which color genes they carry.

I've honestly yet to see a blue egg that beats (in terms of intensity) peachick's Blue Wheatens/Wheatens. Now a true blue, as in sky blue vs robins egg blue, yes, I've seen better though.

i agree,
i have never seen one of her eggs in person but everyone says the camera washes the color out so i just can't imagine what they really look like.

most of the ones i have have that i didn't breed my self lay a blueish/ green egg.

Here are my hens that are claimed to be americaunas. Are they or just EE?
Another question for Illia, or just anybody really.

Have any of you every seen a EE rooster with the coloring of this hen?
I think they are pretty and would like to find a rooster this color.

I am seeing alot of people getting duped by the listings of Ameraucanas. They think that is what they have but instead they get mutts. People around here will tell you they lay eggs in colors similar to their leg coloring.....

**Edited to say that the above statement, about the leg and egg colors, is a old wives tale**
