Lmao. I was thinking the same thing. We're terrible, lol. I'm anxiously waiting for easter to be over so that I can hit the sales and such.

The worst part of people purchasing animals as a gift, is not all of them have the knowledge of how to care for them. Which makes it so horrible for the pets!

I also do rescues.... and it breaks my heart when I get animals that someone didn't know how to care for and didn't bother to find out!

I have a small parrot that was never fed correctly until she came here. She had no idea what fruit and vegetables were, it took along time to get her to even try them. She was actually scared of them!

Ugh, nothing like throwing away a living thing!

When I used to work at an animal shelter, I saw the most absurd things. Like a woman who turned in her chocolate lab puppy because she bought a white couch.
My favorite snark about people like that is that they can go home and enjoy their failed marriages. I mean, think about it, if someone can't keep a promise to a dog/cat/chicky/etc, how are they going to maintain human relationships?

I agree people are just sad.. Its ok though so far Ive been having a lil Naughty fun with the mean folks that emailed me... LOL Get nasty with me and I will kill you with kindness... like a HUGE EMAIL with nothing but happiness followed by another then another then in a few days another... HEHE Im really not mean just when meanies start it I gotta finish it.....

At least yours were dropped off at the shelter. We rescued three bunnies (placed one kept two) that were dropped off where we work one night. (We work in a National Forest/mountainous area) Based on their coloring and their approximate age when we found them, they were definitely unwanted Easter pets. Unfortunately, there was a fourth who had already become coyote food.
