Hey Bairo, I think the weird looking cochinX you got from me is this hen's daughter. She is molting now so don't judge her lol. They have similar base coloring and markings. This hen is bearded, however she is an olive egger that was made crossed from a bearded x non-bearded.....so her offspring could go either way, I think.

My RSL hen eats mice. She was a "started pullet" from a hatchery.

She ate the adult mouse WHOLE.

It took me several hours to get over the shock. Reminded me of a Monitor Lizard gulping something down. Last Winter I trapped the outside of their runs with snap traps with peanut butter. All my hens loved the mousey treats. The five minute game of Keep Away was well worth my effort!

My silver sebrights hunt and kill mice... but a rat, well... a rat would win. LOL!!
One of the best poultry for mice is actually Muscovey ducks... mice are part of their wild diet.

I haven't seen those dogs in a long while. I did hear alot of gunshots about the time I last saw them... my money is on them being dead. I have a "wild" cat that I tamed down... she is just a little thing still... I call her "itsy". They get a heat lamp and houses made of rubbermaid containers. I am trying to trap momma to fix her. Any cat has a home here. Fed two times a day, and if they let me... I'll pet them every chance I get.

PM me and we'll talk. If she is tame I'll take her to my vet, if she is wild I can take her to PPAW.... either way, she will be fixed! LOL!

I'm going to hang a sign up in town to see if I can place them as inside cats. They are very tame. If that doesn't work out I would love it if they could join your little herd!

I seen one simular... "Forget the dog, beware the cat" LOL!

And Daphne, sounds good.... I understand. For the record, though... I have a doggie door in the back and the cats can come in and out as they please, but they rather all just stay outside except for the 3-5 coldest days of the year. I even built cat shelves that go up the walls in the basement for them to climb and sleep on. I can't believe I'm putting this online... yes, I go through major pains to keep the cats happy.

Oh and I have one that sleeps with the chickens. Yep. I have species confused animals. The goat goes to bed at dusk and eats flock raiser. The cat sleeps with the chickens. And I have a chicken that is BFF with the goat. Cat that thinks it's a dog and dogs who think they are human. Only the rabbit knows it's a rabbit. lol
