@TNBarnQueen

We after we got Goliath, Gracie, and Mrs Priss home we turned them loose in the yard let them run around for a while.
Before we put them away for the night they were eating feed out of our hands.

Was kinda worried about them this morning though.
Was 8:30 and they were still not off their roost.
Everyone else was awake and moving around eating breakfast and the were still in bed.
Finally I got so worried that I went down to check on them and finally Gracie came down and started eating.

I guess you have them trained to "Sleep In" on Sundays.

They are so beautiful, we really like them.

Thanks again.

Just found you guys. I am in Lenoir City TN. Hope the show went well.

Welcome dncarr09 and Treehugger358!

I wondered how the show went with all the T-Storms rolling around.
I went to Alabama and we had one heavy but fast shower. Beautiful day though. Picked up 4 Guinea's, 1 Rabbit Doe (not sure what she is but she is cute), Spangled Bantam pair, 2 BB Red Pullets, Trio of MF D'uccles, and a new Muscovy pair.

That is probably my fault. I usually don't feed until around 11-12. I have trouble sleeping at night so at times I am usually not up til around 9. So...yeah..they are use to sleeping in and it is usually about that time before I get outside. I wormed them with Ivermectin and also put some under their wings for mite prevention around 2 months ago. Miss Priss is a morning layer and Gracie is a late afternoon, sometimes, early evening layer. For some reason Gracie doesn't like laying up in a box like Miss Priss but instead in a box on the floor. Could be it is a chore giving her fat bottom.

It was good to talk to your dad. He is such a nice man.

the red I got seems to have adjusted just fine to her new home but the EE is very skittish. Anything I can do to help that? She stayed in the coop til this afternoon & I finally got her out & put the coop door down. I'm keeping our dog away from the coop too...

Hope I don't drive y'all crazy w all my newbie questions :)

Are their any new shows going on soon? I would love to go to one and see others chickens and learn more. I haven't seen anything going on around here. I am kind of new to chickens.I have a flock of about 30 chicks that are 3 months old. "Bairo" I saw the pics of your Delawares and they are beautiful. I have 9 of them. They are one of my favorites as one of the roos and two of the hens like to come and set on my lap to be petted when I am outside in their field. I am trying my hand at Guineas, and I may have some soon. If my hatch goes well I may have some extra if anyone is interested. I am also hatching some Lemon Cuckoo Orps right now.

Wow! Lot's of new people!

Welcome!!!!

It was great to see everyone yesterday. I learned a lot (like not to pick out which bird you plan to show in the dark) and had a great time, despite getting soaked as soon as I got there.

Barnqueen, I'm glad you found my umbrella. I leave a trail of misplaced items everywhere I go. I've got a couple more, so there's no rush.

Stang, that puppy is such a cutie!!

Library, don't worry about your ameraucana not coming out of the coop. Some are more hesitant than others and sometimes you just have to be really, really patient. She will come out on her own once she realizes she won't be eaten.

I left the show yesterday, came home and dropped of chickens, then headed straight to Chattanooga. I made it right as my son's game was starting. I got home at 1:00 am, so yesterday was a long day with a LOT of driving. I have a whole new respect for truck drivers.
