Awww guys, the fat girls and I are blushing!!!

Casencourt, I just rehomed the extras from my last hatch. I am down to a splash that I'm keeping and a girl I'm growing out for librarychick. I plan on doing one more hatch this year.

I know Contrastphoto has some growing out and I think she has some extras. Part of her flock is from mine and the other part is from Renie'speeps. Renie's flock is gorgeous.

HappyMtn is close to Chattanooga and is concentrating on black orps. She has a LOT of breeding experience. Her main cockerel is a tank of a boy and is about as close to perfect as you can get. She's adding chocolate to her flock soon, too.

If Contrast or HappyMtn can't get you what you want, just let me know. I could probably think of a few more people with Orps.

I'm still fairly new to the poultry world and the people on this thread have been invaluable. There's a whole lot of experience and willingness to help here. AND they're pretty awesome cooks, too!!!

Hope to see you at the next gathering and

Stang, I have vacation envy!!! Was it as hot there as it was here?

Bairo, that waterer looks great. After the siding is done on the big coop, rain barrels with auto-waterers is my next project.

Barnqueen, I got your PM and am sending you one back right after this.

Dncarr, Thanks for the heads up. I don't think there's anything wrong with sharing your personal experience. I'm glad you have some healthy ones, now and I know I'd love to see pictures.

still not getting any eggs.
broody black Cochin in the community box keeps stealing them to sit on. I'm going to have to put back in some individual boxes before we have to start buying our eating eggs, LOL
at least she is on 2 beautiful blue eggs though and daddy is a welsummer if he was covering her well. She has one of hers also...but since she is already an olive egger, I think her offspring will lay a dark brown with probably an ugly greenish hue

I have seen olive egger eggs that where a dark army green....it really was nice. Wonder if the welsummer will make the green darker?

Hey everyone......I really need some HELP. I have lost 4 juvenile chickens for no apparent reason. I just go in and they are laying on the floor dead. My 2 SG silkies...always huddled up together so I figured that they smothered them in the heat that night. They where in a spot that got little air. Another before that...just laying there and now this morning I found another SG laying in the middle of the floor dead. They do give any symptoms. The only thing is their craws did not have much in them. I have had a couple chicks about 5 weeks old do that fluffed up thing with head drawn in. They where not eating and a couple years ago..I think,,I had a problem with cocci. Treatment went fine and so when I find one like that I immediately think cocci. But there is NO bloody stool. I isolate them and start corid with powdered milk in their feed but in 2 days they die. I have all mind on medicated feed. I am at my wits end and to the point of just giving up my chickens completely. Crying hasn't helped so I don't know what to do. Loss of appetite is the only real symptom. Can anyone one tell me something???? I don't want to end my chicken career but at the same time I just can't take the losses for unknown reasons. Is it alright to worm 3 and 4 mo. old juveniles?? I have been giving them DE but still use something stronger a couple times a year. I have not seen any signs of worms though. Also...is it OK to give them a B12 shot? I use electrolytes in their water and clean 2-3 times a week. I just don't know what to do.

Have you checked them for mites or lice?
