Oh my East Tennessee friends, I have lost a chick. It appears she had a broken neck. As I was scrubbing the tractor down, just in case it was some disease, I found raccoon prints on top of the run area. I hadn't been closing them up in the coop because of the heat, but NO MORE EXCUSES. I can't have those raccoons scaring another one of my chickens into a wall! No doubt that is what happened. Has anyone else had an experience like this?
It is possible the raccoon could have reached in and grabbed it by the neck and broke it? They are very nimble with their front paws. I use to have one as a pet and it amazed me at what he could do.

Considering I started it only 18 months ago and then only because I thought there might be a dozen or less people in this immediate area I could network with........those numbers are incredible. I want to thank each and every person that has visited the thread and say how nice it has been that we have been able to be such a tight knit group. So many have done so much to help with the socials and keep us bound together it would be impossible to name everyone for everything you do; thank you all.

I think this calls for a contest

Be the closest guess to when we hit 100,000 views and win 3 chicken nipples. Get within 1 hour and I'll double it to 6 nipples.... and I'll even include shipping.
I am guessing December 12th around 4:15 PM..

I can't believe it's almost 4 am! I have not gotten to sleep yet! I hate family drama, it seems I have almost made every single person in my husbands family dislike me for one reason or another, whether it be because I said something, did something, or something I didn't say (or I dislike them for how they acted). I'm ready to pull my hair out!

Chickapaloosa! Chickapaloosa! (repeat that in your head several times because I'm too lazy to right it out as far as I have wrote this side note!)

My mini rex babies will be ready soon!

@stang

Well at least we love you....and the rabbits love you too

Besides your expected to pee off your in laws once in a while, it adds excitement to your life and theirs. Without that, in laws would be pretty dull

Cute little buggers by the way (the rabbits, not the in laws)

Know exactly what you mean on the In-Laws. Have not spoken to my brother inlaw in almost 2 years.
But just to let you know my family is not much better,
for some reason I keep ticking them off. I suppose its because I say what I think.
