I have a sick chick

I do not know what is wrong with her but I have started treating for Coccidiosis. She if fluffed up, isolating herself, not able to walk well but has normal poop. I isolated her & have started the treatment. Please keep you fingers crossed for us. She is eating, drinking & will get up to go poop. Hopefully I am treating for the correct thing. And of course she is one of my favorite Orpingtons. I hope everyone else is doing well.
Look close for other symptoms. Especially swollen joints ,off colored or other abnormal poop, or pale comb and let us know.

Yes they have always been on medicated food. Her comb does looks a little pale, her wattles are pale & poop is normal. thanks Scratch the comb/wattle thing I just looked at her pics from last week or so & they look the same.

It does not sound like cocci. 99% of the time you will see a little blood in the poop and they will be younger than 8 weeks. Almost never see it in medicated birds. Right now it has me stumped unless she gives us another symptom to rule some things out. Here is a handy chart to have around though for now. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/ailments-such
Thank you. I will see how she is in the morning & post and update.

My wife and I have a situation with our pullets.

As of now, since we have had so much rain, I have been letting ours free range in the yard.

The trouble with this is when my wife goes to work in the morning ( I leave before daylight) the chickens see her come out of the house and come running.

They try to load up in the car with her every time she opens the car door.

She has to run them off each morning so that she can go to work with out a load of chickens.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I tell her that they want to be upwardly mobile.

Well I checked on her this morning. She is still eating, drinking & pooping but she is not able to walk: she is trying to use her wings to help & falls down with her legs in awkward positions. I am going to contact the local Ag office tomorrow & see where to go from there. Thanks everyone for you concern & help.

Maybe she could try the dine & dash method to get to her car: prepare her exit take a cup of scratch, slices of bread or any treats to fling in the opposite direction of her car. While they dine she can dash! And yes mine do the same thing if they see me outside since I am the treat dispenser.

I'm not a pro at this, but it sounds like botulism or what the old timers called Limber Neck.

Years ago when we had those with my father in law, they would get limber neck from eating maggets from house flies.

They would lose their motor function skills.

Here is something, if it helps.
