VERY GRAPHIC

http://pluckandfeather.com/chicken-poo-chart-graphic.html

I found this site that has images of normal chicken poop. I am starting to think maybe my chickens didn't have worms. The photo of the fly eggs with the maggots is what it looked like two weeks ago. But the other coop had a different worm.

Anyone know anything about worms?
yep... Chickens will get them I dont care how careful you are.
And although I dislike "automatically" treating them rather I see worms or not; it is a necessary evil. I know a little more LOL, but that is the brass tacks of it.

Okay, worming questions: I wormed two weeks ago. If you don't remember, there were live worms the first day, dead worms the second and third day. Wormed again yesterday. I saw one worm in one coop. (same type of worm and dead). I saw one worm in the other coop. Different type of worm. A little larger and different color but dead. Now, am I done? Or do I have to repeat since there were still worms coming out?

And about the grandbaby thing: I'm past the vomiting stage. Ultrasound has been scheduled. I'm excited.
Wait... who's pregnant again?

stang.....
did I give a cut off date for guesses on the 100,000 view thing? If not I think we should set a cut off date for october 1st for guesses. We are over 88,000 now.

For all the new folks that did not read way,way back, LOL I did a contest for the person to guess when we will hit 100,000 views for our forum. Stang is keeping track of the guesses for me

. The winner is the closest period.... so lets say you guess nov.1st at 10am and someone guesses nov.1st at noon, if it happens at 10:30, you win because although it passed your guess you were still closer. So post away...I advertised a prize, but will probably sweeten the deal when it comes time
I'm doing a horrible job at keeping track! I lost the paper I wrote them down on and I think there were some that guessed that I didn't even write down... once we close it... and school isn't soo horribly busy, I'll go through the whole thread back when we started the guesses and make a complete list...

Terry, I may take u up on your son delivering the chicken drugs, but Rodney - may I pay you later if so? I've already made plans with some money I just saved up and then decided Wazine and Vetrx as my only chicken/rabbit drugs on hand won't cut it... just a lot of money going so many places! If not, I can just wait til Nov show (though it's such a far drive then as it is now!)... I'll go ahead and get the perimythicin, or whatever it was (my brain isn't working too well today!) from TSC and clean the coops, I can worm them anytime! I may try to run to Greens when they're open and see if they have them cheaper than TSC, since they sale chicken feed cheaper!

Thanks for the link. I have used a different one but I don't remember where (maybe here on the byc forum). I am going to put it in my chicken disease/treatment folder. I have never seen worms with my chickens either before or after worming so I am one who treats as a preventative I guess. I have seen posts where people have said they have cracked eggs to find worms inside!

I don't know if this is true but I do know if it ever happened to me I would no longer eat eggs period. Please it took me almost a week to eat eggs after I saw an egg pipped but not hatched.

I don't eat eggs but my mother eats all mine that aren't for hatching or too "gross looking" for her... she never reported a worm (and she is the type to report back on something like that, ewww). I never seen worms in poop except once. I bought two sebright roos at a sale and they pooped worms on me on the way home. That was one of those moments when someone who loved chickens less would have freaked out. There were more worms than poop. I wormed them and kept them quarentined for two months because I figured there was no telling what else they had. Many of you know me from getting birds and the least you can do is worm them just incase before you sell them. Poor boys were just babies too!!!

Anyways... I miss my sebright roos but if I had all the breeds I like.... I'd easily have a hatchery. Got draw a line somewhere... or so they tell me.

Anyone around ETN want Sulmtaler cockerels? I'm shipping one to California, going to eat a few... just asking before I butcher and then someone says "Oh I wish I knew". So here is the heads up... their days are numbered and I have one 5 month old available and 2-4 (can't decide) 3 month old's. No girls... sorry. I didn't hatch enough to share.

I just love the breed so far... waiting on that first egg is the best!!

Wish I could but I am chicken poor. Anyone want an EE cockerel? He is about 4 months old. Sent to my in-laws hoping he was a she but not. Very friendly, small & red, black & gold in color.
