Tnchickenut, what kind of goat do you have? I am looking into getting one.
He is a pet mixed up dwarf like thing... lol. He thinks he is a chicken... no kidding. I just locked him up for the night in the coop. LMAO. There was a time he thought he should get on the perch too. It didn't work, but he tried for about a week.

I got him from a customer at TSC that would come in and say "I got what you need!" until I broke down and took him. They brought him to me in a cat carrier!!! SO CUTE!!! Now he is a big fat layer hen with hooves and horns and doesn't lay eggs. :)

I'd just ask around but take my advice (I learned this the hard way) not all goats are the same, make sure they were hand tamed or you will have nothing but problems.

That moment when you look at a recipe for a cake you want to make soo bad because it's your favorite and realize they call for 3 large eggs and all you have are 3 small ones....

@itsthelaw : http://www.rabbitsonline.net/view_topic.php?id=58539&forum_id=48 the post after the post is VERY informative!
Don't know that moment at all. I just threw 8 eggs into the fence because they were too poopy to bother. I'd give them to a needy family, but charities around here won't take them.... thanks Dept. of Agriculture for making everyone scared to eat home grown anything. ;)

Here is the boy now... This is when he was younger and unfixed (and, yes, I took him to the vet and he was actually neutered, not banded). He is bigger now, but he is the best goat!

We talked about getting him a couple other goats but he cries when he is away from the layer flock so as long as he is happy. Though, he has killed two chickens by accident before. Long story, but I'm not mad. It was bound to happen and it was a bad weather day that added to it.

I just used 4 of my Deleware eggs, they're tiny enough to still weigh less than 3 large!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I am going to cut in and post an updated pic of the Orpingtons from Tennesseeckn. They are doing very well: growing like weeds, eating & pooping lots more, etc. I am still betting on 3 pullets & 1 cockerel but it is probably wishful thinking on my part. I have never had/raised any English type Orps before so its mainly a guess. I also updated the folder on my profile page with close up pics if anyone wants to look/guess at the sexes. My apologies for breaking in.

@Everyone

Are we going to try to have a final picnic for the year.
I know we have a show in Newport but that is in November, might be kinda cool.

I know we have a LOT of new members that we all would like to put a face to.

Besides I am having withdrawals, (missing stangs cupcakes)

What is everyone's opinions on this?

Since I am one of the newbies how do these picnics work? I would like to put names & faces together. I have been told I am not a bad cook either if that helps any.

Lightly scanned over the last 6 pages. PHEW!

Sistachick... you are right on top of me. We are neighbors! And StacyTN... you aren't far... and your name is Stacy. This will get confusing.

So, now that I'm no longer breeding LF Delawares, I have space and time for other breeds. I keep going back to European types with two exceptions... Barred Plymouth Rocks and New Hampshires. Is that weird? (assuming most know those two breeds created the Delaware) The biggest problem is, my current situation is one of "sit and wait" and I want to be window shopping for breeds and lines for spring... but I don't know what I will be doing or where I will be in spring. DRIVING ME NUTS.... I'm a planner to a extent and this not knowing stuff is for the birds.

Just venting a bit.
yep..your crazy. Speaking of crazy though...I have a couple wel-dels that are f-1 from the daughter of one of the dels I got from you. I culled one roo and then ended up loosing the other so my father in law currently has the old ladies now. But one of their pure bred daughters mated with my main roo now (welsummer) and so I hatched out two wel-dels
