No she most likely won't. I broke a broody a few years ago and she has never layed since. I leave them alone now, unless they are bad parents... sometimes new broodies are bad mothers. However, you are dealing with games who are the best... closer to their wild roots. I say leave them alone... keep up with the days and just be ready to help save chicks ONLY when needed.

Update:

The killer broody (Barred Rock) has the chick now. I watched for awhile but she is as happy as can be with a baby to raise. Don't know why she was squishing the eggs towards the end. Anywho... one chick... 5 eggs in the incubator that just aren't that far along. She isn't getting all the chicks. I'll just brood them.

McMurrays will replace what was wrong..only thing is you have to order enough chicks to make 25....they owe me one and I am not going to pay app. 60.00 just to get the one they owe.

All three brooders are maxed out right now... which makes me think that my big coop will be maxed out, too, here in about a month. If only I had all the coops I wanted. I've been eying my kids' play structure for a while, now.

I have a customer who is looking for some Americana chickens..not EEs but Americanas. I only have chicks so...hope I can help him find some. If anyone knows of any..let me know!!
Thanks!
