i still feel terrible about it, but butchering etc is just part of how i grew up learning how to do hunting and farming activities, and just more respectful than dissociating yourself from that part of life (when out on a farm, fishing and hunting, and told you are only going to eat what you can kill and scroung up, you learn to kill, but also the respect that should be in it). its "sport" hunting i dont get, as unless you ran it down and killed it with your bare hands, it wasnt very "sporting" i think..
im finding that different hen's eggs hatch at different times. on a good note, im finally at the time resisting incubating more eggs.
course now to many to eat.. made decision to sell six hens at least. also going to sell off the chicks, quail (debating keeping a trio of babies), and debating silkies to stay or go as theyre amusing and already trying to steal eggs to brood unless one of them is laying now to (i keep finding little blueish egg under the silkie ball, and they bite at me when i try to take it, but figure could just be brooding instinct). i know i should downsize alot more, but for now im just able to part with this majority of the lot. also my OEGB roos, and possibly the double sizzle roo(?).
