yes dogs are bad news when they arent trained to leave them alone. Finally had some Black tailed white japanese hatch, tiny as can be, but one has tiny feathers on its legs which I am very disapointed at because I bought my breeders from a very respected Japanese bantam breeder. Anyone ever heard of a feather legged jap?

ive seen some feathered that were supposed show stock, but have no idea if theyre supposed to be or not, as most seen without, but some online with also.

Well I hope the rest turn out ok lol, Going to try to take some pet quality birds and some mixed chicks to the first monday sale in the morning, along with whatever else I can round up between now and then. Dont know how much they charge to set up though

picked up four rollers, but didnt get the two i liked from other guy who had them. two are kinda pretty to me, but my buddy really likes them, and i think his pair are alot more beautiful. never did get to take all mine down to sell off.

I went but didnt take anything to sell, couldnt get everything ready in time, it was packed though. Saw a few things I liked lol mainly what I really didnt need like those cute potbelly piglets that were really young and the guy was bottle feeding them, would probably not go over too well with my bantam rooster that gets the run of the yard during the day

. Saw some lavender guinea keets but I already have pearls and pearl pieds, so suprisingly came home with nothing.

i considered getting guinea keets, and raise up to mess with my neighbors.. id assume theyd go wild really easy really fast, and be able to take on or avoid dogs, with woods fields, and open lawn, to choose from??? maybe theyd populate, or are they one that needs to be incubated by us? i saw all that also, and oddly wasnt tempted to take anything else home, but the rollers (?), that must be a bad sign that i have had everything else already almost...

Well I dont buy alot of birds there, my best birds are the ones I have bought at shows or have had shipped in from out of state. I didnt see many pigeons except the white homers, one thing you really have to watch out for at that sale is traders, that is people who go to the auction buy birds as cheap as they can and sell them as fast as they can knowing nothing about them. I like to know abit about the breeder, the bloodlines of the birds, but ive been showing for going on 6 years now. One thing about Guinea keets I have learned through experience, they are very delicate, mine are considerably semitame and still wont tolerate being held, as for predators I dont know because mine right now are in with my 3 ducks, 2 pekins and a call mix. Still cant find a dwarf hotot rabbit breeder though

oh i know mostly about the sales and scams, even thieves.. just figure starting out i can just know enough from working for a vet to pic health animals, or at least cheap ones that i can quarantine and be project, then find homes for after i gain experience with them. these were way in the back, end towards the road, and the guy and kids from van had alot of bantam baby to adult polish, which were only i saw there. seemed nice, birds looked healthy and calm around them and had some good markings and such. one is grizzle, ash, one red, one red and white. they really are in nice shape.
