So many of the south are still quite closed minded but believe me when I say they have come a long way esp in the last 15 yrs. Maybe not far enough but alot farther than I had ever imagined. Yes in this general area people are quite clannish & have been for generations. Dating back to moonshining days & feuds between families.

But given the poverty levels that still exist here many in the very rural areas are still very untrusting of outside people. Heck I was born & raised here there are areas I won't be in after dark cause I don't belong there.

Some will never be completely accepting of new things, new ideas, new ways of thinking, but as the kids grow up new things are coming around much faster. I just wish education was taken more seriously than it is currently. In many areas it is still very acceptable to have babies while you are still a child but I guess this is everywhere really. My in-laws tell me southern hospitality lives in me willing to help , be nice to everyone no matter who ya are. Although when I visit up there northern Indiana talk about funny looks, what did you say lady phrases, last but not least where do you live.

Someday we may catch up to rest of the world but in the mean time we ain't all that bad really . I ain't no nascar fan, don't drink shine, not real sure about religion other than I believe in God, I love my sweet tea though just not so much sugar.

Bairo~ I sincerely appologize if I attacked you. That was not my intention at all. I was just taking up for someone because that is my nature. Please forgive me for my shortcomings and I would never post anything on this site that I thought would cause the thread to get "ugly". I will glady unsubscribe to this thread if I have caused you harm in my reply.

I am out. Everyone have a great day.

I have ordered quite a few eggs through the mail and really have had great results most of the time. Did you let the eggs "set" for 24 hrs. before you put them in the incubator? It really does make a difference. I ordered 1200 bobwhite eggs about 6 weeks ago, I let them set 24 hours and then incubated, I had over 1000 babies hatch, which is excellent for shipped eggs. When I order eggs I try to only order from someone who is in a state not to far away. I would never order eggs from California or any other far western state, I believe that is just to far to mail eggs, but that is just my opinion. I have also ordered chicken eggs from neighboring states and had excellent results, but it seems a mite hot to order eggs right now, I would wait till it cools off a little or ask them to put a cool pack in with the eggs.

Thanks, poultrylady. I used to have good results with shipped eggs, even though I was using a LG back then. All my orders have came from this side of the Mississippi and within 8 hours drive from me. I thought if somebody within a 2-3 hour driving distance was able to receive eggs in good condition, I would beg them to let me have an order shipped to their home and I'll come pick them up. It's really a shame that a lot of people besides myself are having a terrible time with shipped eggs.

Yes...in the past I let the eggs rest and load the incubator the next day. However, I've been told that if the eggs were shipped during hot weather to load them right away. I realize that embryos start developing around 85 degrees. That's why I used the egg carton method even though I use an R-Com 20 incubator. Supposedly, that would give eggs with ruptured air cells a chance.

Anybody else have shipped eggs lately?

No worries all, I don't think anybody was "attacked", just the usual internet misunderstanding. Its a shame how words come across on the internet sometimes even when they aren't meant in a bad way.

I find the whole "buggy" thing funny myself. Buggies are what the amish drive.....carts are for shopping.

I just don't like when someone calls out Bairo, saying he's mean, just for a misunderstanding. I've lived that, and its not nice. I agree, most people don't mean things in a bad way. The buggy thing is funny, and shouldn't b taken with any offense. Sometimes people need to get over themselfs. This is a wonderful and helpful site. I find welcoming and friendly

Funny! Don't even get me started on Nascar..... I personally would rather watch paint dry, ha

>schnicker< now... the only way i could watch nascar is if at the midway point each car has to start driving the opposite direction! THEN i'd watch.
