Contrastphoto--you mean the eggs were placed (unwrapped) in an egg carton, then the carton was wrapped in TP? Or, were the eggs wrapped in TP before placing in the carton? I guess I need a nap. Either way, I think you got a surprisingly good hatch rate.

The best packing job--for the eggs I've received--consisted of wrapping each egg in bubble wrap, placing those eggs in a box, then putting that box inside a larger box filled with crumpled newspaper. She had different labels on the box, nice big 8x10 sized that said things like, "Live Embryos, Do Not X-Ray", "Fragile, Hatching Eggs". All 8 eggs developed, but only 6 hatched....using a LG incubator, Brinsea digital thermometer + water weasel, wet bulb/dry bulb hygrometer, no fan, no turner. Those eggs came from Indiana, btw.

The absolute worst job was where the person wanted somebody to do a test hatch. It had to have been his first time packing anything. Wrapping an egg in a paper towel and placing those in a box only leads to a messy box of broken eggs. Fortunately, the eggs were free to begin with and I was only out the cost of postage from GA.

OMG, I heard this on fox news, but did not see the video. Of course the guy is from a Baptist church. When I told my daughter, she said "I'm never calling myself Baptist again,ha" My first instinct is to be appalled, but when I actually see the video, all I can do is "crack-up"...Bogiddy, Bogiddy, Bogiddy!

LOL I really have no words >that I could share here<

When I hear @ the end "Lord I wanna thank u for my smokin hot wife" in 4 part harmony, I cannot stop laughing. I sent it to all 3 of my kids

Well almost all my stock came from hatching eggs shipped in and USED TO I didn't have a problem hardly ever... few people didn't know how to ship, but normally it was good.... in the last year or so, there must be a new person at a main terminal or something because I have had ALOT of roughed up eggs. But also then again for some reason people began thinking putting hatching eggs in egg cartons then shipped in a box was a good idea. THAT causes some major air sack problems. But don't get me on that soapbox of mine.

Toilet paper, oh brother!

Dont be silly. Your heritage dictates a quick reaction to stand up for and stick together with what you thought was a hurtful attack. Just a simple misunderstanding, and of course just like you thought you were standing up for someone....my fellow yankees came to stand up for me ( is this not how the civil war started, better be careful here

) It was all fun and games. We were just sharing funny experiences we have encountered. I am certain that if one of your friends moved up north or to the west coast, that she would call you to talk about how "darn strange" "those people" are. She would not mean to offend anyone, only having a laugh with a friend about differences in people.
At any rate...it takes a bit more than a misunderstanding to get me in a bad mood. This site is about sharing of experiences so we can all learn from each other. Maybe that applies to more than chickens? So with that said. Please dont feel like you need to leave this thread. There are quite a few extremely knowledgeable people here and I for one am having a great time learning.

Sincerely,.

Rodney D. Bailey

Hear Hear, well said Rodney!

Sounds to me like you're LIKE me and have far too much time on your hands LOL So if you know anyone who needs painting or lawn maintenance done...let me know. I'm reasonable and I paint rather well.

Or if you know anyone who needs a small business manager or HR person LOL should i just post my resume?

I will keep that in mind. Hmmm, what is it I do again??? Hmmm. Oh yea I remember. I own "ETN Domestic Services Group" which started 12 years ago in Florida as a painting company. Painting, fine refinishing, concrete coatings, epoxies, and stains are still 75% of our business. I almost fell on tjhe floor when you asked about painting

but I will def keep you in mind if I catch a big project up your way....if you would like to help me.

Heather...send me a contact # and if you are comfortable outside, inside, comfort on ladders, good at trim, cutting in, etc. I will not..not consider you if any of these answers are negative; just need to know so I can fit a project to your comfort level. Keep in mind though that times are tough and I have been getting smaller, low margin jobs.

That is HYSTERICAL!!!!!!!!!!!! I started painting by happenstance helping a friend of mine out to raise money for college when he signed on with "Tripple A Student Painters" Went through all of their training and have been doing it off and on since. I "sub contract" for my dad since we don't allow him to handle a brush or roller!!!

I dont know how many, if any of you belong to your local freecycle groups...i've been involved for many years even started and ran one in Maryland as well as moderated 3 others since I lived rather centrally. I got this post just now and thought perhaps someone here would be interested. Keep in mind, this is not from freecycle, rather a group spun off where you can sell things. Freecycle everything has to be free. Let me knowif you're interested and i'll contact the person and try to help as much as i can..

I have 3 young Bantam Roosters I would like to sell.
I bought 5 day old baby chicks hoping for more hens then
rooster. Only 1 was a hen...lol!
These roosters are young and just started crowing.
2 have Cochin in them....and one is black and white.
I live near Greene Valley.
Thanks
