I wish we could get some rain here! We had alot of lighting last night but not a drop of rain, I honestly cannot remember the last time it rained here. It is just so dry here, the pastures are gone and we have been feeding hay to the cows for quite some time, my poultry are miserable in all this extreme heat, it keeps me busy just keeping fresh cool water to all of them. especially the quail, silly things play in the water and splash it all out so I am going down to the barn to fill up their water about every 2 hours. I am ready for Fall!

I know what you mean...it will be nice not to crunch as i walk through the grass! can you give the birds a "pool" to play in ? I would get a rubbermade tote long and shallow and put some water in it for them to splash in. I feel rather lucky that i decided to build their pen and coop in the shade, although they dong get much sunshine directly on them any more, they are much cooler. I have been able to be outside even in the heat if i stay in the shade, its like a 10 degree difference from the sunny areas. I have to get moving on my bunny run, i've got mama bunny in my bathroom and feel horrible because shes in a smaller cage and no grass access, but since i know now that the other bunny isnt a girl...i cant put them back together.

Yep, it poured here. All the bowls and buckets were overflowing. It did cool things off a bit.....for now. Back to ridiculous heat later I'm sure.

Bairo, I love these cochin mixes! I've raised over 100 in the last 12 months....all broody hatched and raised for at least the first few weeks. Other than a few bossy boys, I haven't had a mean one. They have all been nice, friendly, smart birds. I think they all come out beautiful as well

I'm sure it wouldn't take much to find some people online who did that in their areas and could help you by telling you how they did it. I, personally, would start with a survey/petition.... but I have no experience in it. I live in the country where you can walk around naked if you wanted. LOL!!!

Ha, ha. If I did that, my neighbors would have to burn their retinas with bleach, ha. A petition is a great idea. I don't have any experience in this either, so it sounds good.thx

LOL i have the hardest time keeping clothes on my son!!! If I could get away with it, i'd run nude around here too...but with 2 kidletts, it just "aint" happenin!

Just moved mama bunny outside for a while, she is in a live trap....it's all i have right now thats bigger than the cage but at least shes enjoying fresh grass and fresh air! But i have to tell you, it's just plain gross out there. No sooner you walk outside you're wet, if not from sweat then from the humidity! Looks like i'm in for the day...except to run to co-op to get some de or something because since it rained and now is so humid, my run smells stinky. This is the first time since i've put the sand in. But then again, i have more birds in there now. Ugggggggg again

I know the feeling. Years ago, really a different lifetime ago, my ex n I were building a house on 10 acres in MI. I had taken my 2y old daughter into a kitchen/bath store to pick out stuff for one of the bathrooms. As I'm looking @ sinks, my daughter crossed the aisle, and had taken off everything but her underpants n was sitting in a display tub trying to turn on water. So glad everyone thought it was cute n laughed
