congrats lov watching kids with chickens my nieces r the same way.i have a silkie hatching they r taking care of them while i'm out of town.next time i would love to have some buff orp eggs to put under her.i was told u could tell from eggs if it is a hen or roo,hen has rounded shell ,roo has pointy shell.anyone else heard this didnt have time to notice this time

katchley7595--the pointed egg vs rounded egg really doesn't work that well. You will have better results if you know how to use a pendulum and interpret the movements that represent Yes or No for you. Also, knowing how to ask the right questions is another key to success and lots of practice.

But i'm going to give the little ones a bit more time before i try letting them out in the yard.

picks? i imagine theyve grown some by now? seems like you have all the makings to start your own various breed projects.. now all you need is some silkie crosses, and a partridge in a pear tree!

Ohhh my lol I still have 11 sussex eggs growing strong and am nearing lockdown. So if anyone is looking for any sussex mixes >light with speckled and light with coronation< let me know. I'm hoping to get at least 1 pair of each but can't keep all 11 should they all hatch.

I do need to take some new pics, with school starting this past week and now my son is sick again i've not done much of anything that i should be doing. The bunny hutch for Amanda got built tho so she is no longer living in with the chickens, although she loved being in there, it's sand and no grass..i guess no different than the hutch huh? Going to fence a small part of the yard soon so the chickens can escape if a dog goes chasing and plan on allowing the rabbits time inside the fence for exercise and grass. I still need to get your little cage back to you as well! Argh i forgot i had it till i walked in the barn yesterday where i put it...so i wouldnt forget LOL

lol id forgotten were it went also.. or that i lent it out even. i can use it to move critters in (guessing itd be better to confine most things to as small a containment as can, when moving again), though most have doubled to tripled in size at least since i moved them last.

Just checking in to say hi. Been busy canning. Hope everythingn is going well. Spent a bit of time @ JC farmers market. People who last yr tried to change JC chicken laws, have set up a booth for the next few weeks, collecting signatures. Trying to gather support for the change. Seemed to have a lot of support @ the F. Market. They have a facebook pg, C.O.O.P. for "Chickens on our property". Sure hope they r successful

For the 2nd time this season got my bike out went for a really good ride

til I realized I left my bike keys at home no way to get gas.

But still had a really good time ended up north of Newport.

I had forgotten how pretty it is up through there it is. Thought about some of ya'll while I was out. Got almost home before running out of gas called the other half to bring me my keys at the gas station I had coasted into.

Even made it home before the rain.

So goood day . Already put the keys back on bike for a ride tomorrow.
