It's been a while since I've been on this thread but I'm sure "bairo" can answer this question. What are the dates and times of the Cocke county poultry show? I know it's in November sometime but that's all. Thanks!

judging starts about 9. I think you have to be there really darn early (0630) if showing. I am not showing till spring 2012, so not paying attention to that part.

some byc people will try to meet at 11 in front of the big rooster statue so we can try to convince each other we all need more chickens....or at least each others

And birds have to be in the show cages by 8am, so getting there at 6:30 just gets you a better sale spot close to the barn

Hello everyone! I just wanted to share what I got in the mail today, Swedish Flower Hens. I ordered a Rare breed special in April and got my first pair. I bought a second pair off of a lady in Atlanta. They were five weeks at the time. At thirteen weeks my pair from Atlanta turned into two roos, so I set off on an adventure to hatch some eggs. After two tries hatching eggs and only two chicks, Greenfire marked the chicks down so I broke down and ordered them! I hope to have chicks for sale in the spring to support my chicken addiction.

Hopefully I will get crest this time. That is what I requested when ordering. So does the crested gene just pop up in this breed from non-crested parents?
