I dont even think the swedes know if the orig. was crested or not, LOL
I have just recently really started to research them. I do know that the orig. shipper (breeder) they got the stock from a couple of years ago is one who is trying to breed the crest out. But I also understand there are just as many over there that want the crest to stay. It would be really difficult to answer unless you had the money for a gene study or took a trip over there and did a historical genealogy study by talking to the locals. I really think they are a great all around breed though....probably the most prolific layers of any heavy breed we know of (from what I understand)

No no no, silly. We already KNOW we need more chickens.

We're meeting to put faces with names. We'll all hopefully already be sold out by 11am

And birds have to be in the show cages by 8am, so getting there at 6:30 just gets you a better sale spot close to the barn

LOL, I stand corrected

She's so pretty! Sorry about the laying it's probably because she hung around with my girls who never start laying before eight months old. Actually she's close to that now. She arrived on valentines day. How's her eye? Has it gotten better as she's gotten older? I noticed this picture is from the good side.

No, her eye actually looks a bit wonkier to me. She is kind of a strange bird. Never really paired off with anyone.....she just runs around like a crazy lady doing whatever she wants all the time. Always the last one out of the coop in the mornings.

I didnt end up with any pictures of her bad side....i was feeding her BOSS

Let me ask this. If I make a life size cutout of me will someone put me at the big rooster with the group. I don't want to be left out ya know...just don't talk me into a lot of new chickens! Unless they are cutouts too.

Why are all of my young chickens sprouting wattles and big combs!!!!! I have told them....and...told them..you are little hens over and over.
hu.gif

You should see all of them when I let them out at mornings . Jabberwoky, my D'U runs frantically from hen to hen ( he is a very indecisive boy)
wee.gif
. Partridge silkie roo runs up to hens dancing on one foot in a circle (don't think he knows how to do both feet at the same time, a bit uncoordinated)
lau.gif
the SG silkie roos just grab what is ever close to them and both have not figured out which end is which. I wish I could video all this...everyone would get a huge laugh.
