I have used Ideal x2 with good luck I always received the chicks within 1-1 1/2 days no losses but the chicks have have all turned out really well they are HQ but when you are 1st getting started & don't know anyone to get chicks from this where you start.I got some buff brahmas & broilers from them. So far the brahmas have some really good size, Some decent color, right now they are 15 weeks old.The broilers we got 2 weeks ago have tripled their size & tough little birds this group have certainly not been babied they have a light but no 90 degree temps unless it gets that warm in the brooder I do open the tractor if it gets 85 or better.Ideal has great customer service.
My biggest problem right now is still dealing with preds, the critters we are dealing with will uncover the traps & bypass them we are using critter urine or gland scent to cover the human smell. Now we have caught , groundhog, possums , coon but not the fox or coyote. I almost thinking it might be a trained dog as a neighbor recently acquired 4-5 chickens the #of hens I have missing. To bad I can't get a look at them as 1 of those hens was a SQ splash orpington hen. She was 1 I had went looking for to put good blood in my flock & darn it she had just started to lay. I had found 2 splash hens & a splash roo & a blue orp roos. Oh well this is bad thinking on my part so I guess I will let it go just keep trying to get the critter, no matter how smart or trained it may be, after all aren't humans supposed to be smarter.
