Way to kill the thread, Bairo!!
Just kidding. I'd say everyone is either at Crossroads or enjoying the weather.
To get back to chickens (mainly because if I shared my political beliefs you would Bairo would stroke out
) I have a chicken with an identity crises. She's a Wyandotte trapped in an Orp's body. I have two seperate pens and she will kill herself to get in the Wyandotte pen. She wants to roost with them at night and paces and cries at the divider when I put her back on the Orp side. She is related to all the Orps, she grew up with all the Orps, so why the defection?
ETA: added a smiley to help convey that I am JOKING!
LOL... I was in Morganton today... bought a barred rock bantam. LOL
I just checked that link and scanned it... no major problem, bairo... I vote for RP....... As for chickens... I have a Delaware who is like that with the bantam barnevelders... she INSISTS on being with them, which is fine by me. Their eggs are darker (not that much smaller mind you). It's obvious who's egg is who's... but she sticks out like a big white sore thumb!!! LOL
Oh, yeah. She is the queen bee on the Wyandotte side. She might just like the boys better over there, mainly because they are TERRIFIED of her.
I'm going to have to put my foot down when hatching time comes around again.
My two hatchery SLW refuse to leave the Orp pen and that one Orp won't leave the SLW pen. And I KNOW that I can't tell the eggs apart. That's why I had to break every single (insert the word-that-begins-with-a-b-but-shouldn't-be-written here) since early summer. I didn't want to hatch another mutt. Not that I don't love my baby Bobs.
Speaking of girls... I love my first two SLW with all my heart. They are what made me fall in love with chicken-keeping, but I have to admit they were never what you would call pretty. Sweet and funny, but not pretty. Now they are in full molt and... well... Bless their hearts...
