Dang sometimes I wonder if bad luck is following me just lost my top brahma hen at pol, she got tangled in some grape vines broke her leg. Got her in a dog carrier for now gonna process her in am. She is resting comfortably in the carrier at the moment.

This just sucks she was running for the coop to get her chicken crack ( scratch) that's how we get them in. SO came in carrying her with this whipped puppy look on his face. I was installing new doggie door since gsd ate the other one. Which is why I wasn't the one shaking the can.
I know I was gonna be doing something selling or giving away in the spring but this just stinks. She is such a pretty girl.

Remember when I said that I had an orp with an identity crises? Well, haven't been able to convince her that she's not a SLW. When they are out free ranging you can see all the orps on one side of the coop and this on the other side...

You can tell who's really in charge around here, can't you? Sigh...

Denagard is used for chickens as an antibiotic. Especially for resp. problems. My friend said she has had a great deal of success with both her own chickens and flocks she has treated for others. It is a bit pricey....$52 and some change for a quart but like most things like this it is very concentrated. I am ordering some the first of the week.

I have 22 LF and 15 bantams. I will be glad to finally start getting eggs....feel guilt as crap when I buy store eggs.

you need 30 cc's the way I am mixing it. you'll get 36 cc for 6.00 dollars. I broke it down to what it cost me per cc plus the cost of the syringes. hit each LF with one cc and each banty with 1/2 or I can figure it out to add to your waterer but I dont really trust this method.

I would love to see pictures of your babies. Mine did the same thing. One minute they were gangly, the next all poofy. They're still not as wide as they're going to be, though. They've not developed the waddle, yet.

"Poofy" LOL...dont believe that for a minute. Daph's version of "poofy" is over 10 lbs, I think. You can always tell at night what side of the coop that roo is on I got from her, the coop leans that direction. I'm getting him a telephone pole for a roosting bar.

Compared to the hen....it looks like a marble. I am curious what is inside.... but can't bring myself to break it yet to see.

I agree with doing individual doses opposed to water treatment. Some of my chickens drink a lot of water and some very little...so there may be those who would not get an effective dose. Thanks Bario...just let me know when I need to come get it. The doctor said I could try driving some now. *evil grin

Oh...I guess we need to see how much Daphne needs before I get it. Daaappphhnnnnneee!

I just had to add chickens first. I have 36 LF and 5 banties. Man! My plan was to get below 40 before winter and I was so close.

Don't make fun of my birds!!! They're just misunderstood.

There was a contractor here this summer and when my boys came running up over the hill he said, "Agh, what ARE those things?!?" I can see why he was startled. They were pretty sure he had brought them a treat and were chugging towards him as fast as they could go.

I got five whole eggs from 35 hens today. I would push a scooter to outer Mongolia to get more eggs, so I'll meet whenever or whenever.
