I am a stalking machine...found it via google just as Lori sent it to me. So at least it confirmed it was right before we started calling.

Hopefully Bairo is on the phone with her now.

And seems with most drugs there is a relatively large "margin of error" as the therapeutic dose is well under the toxic dose.

hard time finding sub-q effects for valbazen. All "zoles" were intended to work through the gut and not rely so much on being absorbed through the circulatory system like all the "ectins" ivermectin for example. I dosed it at 1cc. 11.4% albendazole to 8 cc water (purified RO) on the average 6lb LF giving 1 cc of this mixture works out to 12 mg/cc albendazole per pound or the same for 1/2 cc on a 3 pounder. Testing of ill effects through the oral route indicate that it is safe to at least 10 times this amount.
Since I can not find info on sub-q admin...I will have to make an educated guess based on the known physiology of other injectables. What is going to happen is that most of this is going to be absorbed through the fat tissue and passed into the circulatory system. It will make its rounds to the liver and be filtered. It is very difficult to say if it will be more or less efeective on worms since it was designed to work through the gut. I can say however that the liver is going to catch more of a work load. Im still going to say that since it has tested ok out to several times the dose that I mixed it at...that hopefully the birds will be ok. I am just not sure about the effectiveness on the worms. I'll be blunt now (sorry). Liver failure shows itself quickly. If they make it 24 hours...more than likely you are in the clear.

I think there are several around here, I'll ask my friend who's been showing mini lops for several years and knows everyone!

quick question though, why flemish giant? If you don't mind me asking...

I looked up the breeders earlier..just wondering if anyone here knew of someone. Not exactly sure on why flemish giant...my DW just likes them better I suppose. She tends to like larger pets...we have had two great danes in the past (only one now). From what I've read on the breed they seem to be fairly hardy and gentle as well. Around here if she wanted to sell them, I think they would work as meat, fur and pet rabbits.

Well the reason I asked is they don't have the meat you'd expect, they are more bone than anything... if you just want large pet rabbits, my friend raises French Lops! She may have a litter due soon too, she palpated but wasn't sure! They're the same as Flemishes in size, but their ears lop!

Here's are all really sweet... I get my Mini Lops from her...

Details, details....LOL

They had creme d'argents at the show last weekend. $25 each or a pair for $40.

I do see the Champagnes here and there at shows, but havent seen any for sale. I'm sure if you asked the breeders they would have some, but not terribly cheap....
