I will be reducing the number of birds I have this year before hatching gets started full swing. Im going to mainly cochins, silkies and call ducks so I will have some of my past show birds of other breeds for sale. All bantams, brahma, plymouth rock, japanese, d'uccles. If anyone wants some of them let me know.

Ohhhh maybe a couple D'Uccles for me please. I am almost sure now that one of my TSC bantams is a white D'Uccle(beard, muffs, feathered feet), doesn't look anything like the others. The only other thing it could be is a white Faverolles. That little one is my favorite though, so I would love a few more of them. I may take some pics of them after work, never seen any chicks like this guy.

Are you breeding splash to black and getting all blues or just getting some blues from other matings?? Not that it makes a difference in the quality, I was just curious.

They will all be blue. Some of the older ones are showing the copper a bit now. Will try to get you some pics if they will stay still long enough. I have tried but I mostly get butts. I talked to a breeder hoping that I would get a few splash but genetics will not allow that so blue they will be.

I will have some blue/black copper maran roosters in a few weeks. My eggs hatch this weekend. So far it looks like 18 black cooper and 8 blue coppers will make it. The blues are my cross of a splash roo over black copper maran. It remains to be seen what they will look like. The bcm hen I have have a straw color head but lays a #8 egg. the roo was from a #7. Something I'm working on. Egg color and size shape is good now for the feathers! But I know I will have rooster that will have to go! Last year I had 24 roosters out of 32 chicks.

the tan egg is from a giant cochin, the kids pet chicken Pookey
Mammie the BCM with a straw color instead of copper

I'm thinking he is a birchen splash and a couple of tail feathers are too long. Also one tip of his comb looks clipped so not show quailty. But he is huge a very good protector and the hens love him. A hawk flies over and he sounds the alarm hens run under cover. He stands in the middle of the yard all puffed up and crows. The down side he has it in for my 4 yr old girl. She has learned to carry a stick in the yard. she has tackled him and pulled out feathers but he still tries. No one else is bothered. And the whole time she is on the trampoline he stalks around it till she comes off. Thank goodness there is a net around it or might jump up too. Silly bird!

Ok I'm in tears right now, I have to give all my chickens and my mini rex rabbit away and sell the brand new coop I have bought 2 months ago, but we have to move and I really don't make enough to move somewhere that allows poultry. We moved here to help out family with my boyfriends grandpa, who has very advanced Alzheimer's and I am a trained caregiver. We have fed him, bathed him, kept up the house and property and not caused any trouble, we are quiet, don't stay up late, like to cook and pretty much keep to ourselves. I have been spending half of my paycheck on groceries every month, because he leaves food laying out or loses it somewhere. We kept up our part of the deal so the family can have more free times. They used to split the job between 5 people that we are just doing with 2 people now. My boyfriend needed to get some work done on the property and after asking family repeatedly for help and still being denied, he set out to do work that usually requires farm equipment, by hand and got hurt. Now no one seems to remember that he ever asked for anything. He is more important to me then the chickens, so even though it breaks my heart I have to part with them unless I can find somewhere I can have them this week. I am so upset right now, we sold pretty much everything when we moved here, our furniture, washer, dryer, we gave away most of our clothes, books and anything we couldn't fit in the small storage space here. So we have to start over from the beginning. Sorry to vent, but I just had to explain why I am giving my babies up. If anyone knows of somewhere reasonable for rent in the tri-cities that lets me have at least a couple birds please let me know. Thanks!

maybe someone could watch them for you, and you just maybe pay for feed and cleanup or what not.. i unfortunately cannot, probly, though place in my town have people owning and renting cheap homes, with chickens and goats, sheep or a cow, even horses.

Here are pics of my blue marans that are for sale. $5 each. They have outgrown my pens.

I have some other blues that are about 3 weeks younger. Here is dad playing macho-roo..they dance but never get close enough to fight. Kinda fun to watch.
