63000 Views on our little thread....... Who would have known, LOL

On a different note; I am such an enabler. My current customer had a family member give them a little tractor and has been wanting to try chickens for a while now. So I obliged him. Bringing him 2-3 of those hatch-lings from the end of Jan. Give him a few months, they will have a dozen or so

It is because our little group is so very special.

Seriously...we do have a very nice group of people here on out part of the chicken world.

Dang, I wish I'd known you were looking for some. My JG eggs "accidentally" had some Cochin eggs in them (Blue Giant I think, sellers mistake) but I just sold them all today lol! I was kinda mad at the seller (when you order JG eggs and some come out with furry feet...ugh) but now I'm kinda happy, the Cochins just paid in full for the eggs.

I'll be at the meet n greet barring catastrophic failures. I have a friend looking for silkies, anyone have a few hens for sale?

Ok, so check the ETN thread... and it's at the bottom of the list on the first page!!

I put us back to the top! Anyway, anyone want to buy a scarf? My grandmother and I are knitting them up and going to sale them. I'll post pics if anyone is truely interested. On another note, sold my BLRWs, waiting on Nella to get my incubator so can start some Cochin eggs in case my friends attempt doesn't work. Didn't have enough money this week so decided not to go to the Conyers show, am sending my rabbits though, and now will be able to go to the KY show!!

Now, need to find me a new breed of chicken to work on besides cochins! Something easier than BLRWs!!

Is it ok if I try and jump into the conversation, too? Tried to a few times without much luck. I want to play/have online chicken friends!! If not will return to my imaginary forum corner and just watch all jealous like :p

Anyways, I think I have issues. Am driving 45 minutes ea way to Asheville in a little while to pay $5 each for 2-3 chicks that may possibly be roos. Why do I want them bad enough to overpay, knowingly prolly buy roos, and drive that far? Because they are from Biltmore, lol!! DH thinks I'm crazy!!

lol...yes, yes of course.

What would the chicken/Quacks be called???

Well I think the more inclusive and PC term would be "poultry". You know in this day and age it pays to be sensitive to other "non-traditional" poultry keepers. While we may not have the fancy feathers and fuzzy doglike birds, we have our qualities. Like superior egg laying, bug control, and hardiness. I can see a day when little pekin ducklings and silkie chicks peep together in the same pen. Furthermore, ducks umm...you know... DUCK POWER!

Ok so I guess there is no way that I can move for the next little bit, since my car blew up yesterday and I had to buy another one, so I got payments for the few months. Nice car for a really good price, maybe my luck is beginning to change. I'm gonna get a second job so I still need to downsize some I just won't have time for everyone as much as I have now. So I have these to give away right now:
my 3 sizzles, 1 black(being very motherly, so I'm thinking hen), 1 younger one that looks black, but also has grey patches, could be splash or blue, not sure what gender this one could be, acts like either one and then I have a lighter one that has really good feathering, but that could be a roo, he is not as skittish as the other 2 and spars with one of my other chicks. The sizzles are just the oldest and biggest of my chicks and came as a trio so I picked them to give away. I may also give away my bantam Brahma chick which I think is a hen, I just haven't bonded with her as I did with the others and I hate to give any away, but it's easier to give the ones that I am not super attached to. I also may be giving my OEG bantams away, 2 adult mille fleurs(I adore these 2, but I am selling their coop) and a 3 week old possibly BBR hen, but I am waiting to hear back from my vet, he fell in love with them and has first pick. I will have my brand new(used it for 2 months) super nice coop for sale too, but I am waiting to hear back from friends who I offered it to. I won't have any way of moving it when we do leave and I need every bit of money I can get now. Well that's what I have up for grabs right now, I will figure out who else will stay and go as the bantams get older.

We now have 2 mallard eggs in the bator with the rest, just waiting on calls, the goose, the turkey and a few stubborn hens to start laying now. Anyone know how to keep roos from eating the eggs?

what about us who only have doves/pigeons for now (thinking of trying to find some bantam hens, maybe games as had such great luck with them last time, i can get some eggs out of)??? mine are hardy, love eating the bugs around here even on the wing, can come fuzzy and dog like and come when called, they also do tricks! do we have to start a East TN. chicken, bunny, guinea pig, puppy, kitty, pigeon and duck (in order of most discussed so far as ive seen), thread? lol

anyone know if bantam breeds give good eggs, just smaller id assume?

crazy chicken people would be "cluckin crazy"?
