My DH works at Dollywood. He is a lighting tech for the shows. It is the last weekend for Festival of Nations. I love the Paper World Show by Mimirichichi.

We had a bad storm hit us this afternoon. Larger that golf balls. Luck me, I was getting gas and partially under cover for the storm. I still got large dents on the hood of the car. Lots of cars lost there windshield.

That's horrible! I hate when there is mass amounts of people who get damage, all the insurance companies decide they have to raise rates to cover these things. Glad you weren't hurt (windshields breaking are no good for people when they're in the car)! I want to get a season pass, hubby got a discount for working at ORNL so may be able to afford it this year! We just have to go before 29th.

Had an interesting day today! I fed and watered everyone this morning and doused my meaties with their water because the bottom didn't screw on tight enough

then went to the bank, came home to find my baby cochins in a completely soaked brooder (it was somehow the watering things fault) and had to save those by using a stronger bulb for an hour or 2.

Thankfully I wasn't gone long enough for them to get chilled. Have to butcher the last 3 Cornish today so that I can move the younger ones into that pen. Geez! Would mow the grass but the mower's battery died and has a flat tire.
On a happier note, made my hubby some beer battered tilapia for him to take to work!

Maybe this cooking at home more often will rub off and help me lose some weight (well, doubtful if I keep frying everything!) if not at least I know where it came from! I don't have to worry about some wise crackin' kid spitting on it! I used my own eggs in the batter! Yay! I will be out of hatching eggs soon, the last few eggs in the bator will be put on lock-down Friday, and then I'm egg-less!

Let me know when you want some eggs!

@Stang....Show is 1st Saturday in May. May 5th. Deadline for register to show is the 30th. Coop in starts at 0630, but I'll be there by 0600 at the latest to get a decent spot.

@Daph. and Terri. What spot do you want and I will park the van there early and have Kim bring the Envoy to block another spot.

You remember where we where last year?? That is a pretty good area. Just right at the beginning of the walk way to the poultry house. I think I am going to go the evening before and coop mine so it won't be so hectic the morning of. Thanks so much Bario.

Like right across the grass from where the concession was set up I think last year. You were not facing the road though I think, you were looking at the concession, right?

Yep. That was it. Does this mean that I don't have to get up at 4:30 to start loading chickens?

Stang, if you're still interested in those Australorps and are coming to the show, I can bring them with me.

I'm glad you guys were OK!!!

The dynamic duo has redeemed themselves somewhat. They hatched out another little chick and this one they seem to be OVER mothering. When I walked into the coop one mamma was showing it food. When it looked up and saw me it cheeped and ran and ducked under the other one's belly. I guess it really does take a village...
