What are these books you speak of? My son had a 4H book along time ago but I do not know the Storey one.
Storey's guide... usually co-op and TSC have a copy for sale... greyish blue (the chicken one) with some silver laced wyandottes on the cover. It is a excellent book for people new to chickens.

Storey has a series of books: Storey's Guide to Poultry, Storey's Guide to Cattle, Storey's Guide to Rabbits, etc.
Yes, I have read cover to cover the chickens, ducks, and rabbits. The rabbit one is more towards rabbits for meat, so be aware of that if you want pets and are offended at pictures on how to butcher. (BTW there is a section for that stuff in each of those... I'm sure others but I haven't read the others)

They are written by people who (I'm assuming) Storey's finds to be a expert. Again, really recommend the "Chickens" and "Ducks" ones.

Does anyone remember how long we are not taxed for Amazon purchases? I think they have been sending things to email but I ignore them.

What do you think? I think she could stand to be a bit more "plump" or rounder chest, depending on how you talk chicken. Still her plumage is outstanding. She is a bantam Barnevelder, btw... and they are a breed I don't see ever cutting out.

Found those hobbit chicken coops on My Pet Chicken.

Those crazy things are $1,800. I thought they were cute. Not so much anymore.
yeah I seen them on fb somewhere... they are cute, but that is about it... they look pretty small (in my opinion) and then I'm wondering how easy/hard it would be to clean. And you would have to have them shipped here... so add $500 to the cost for that.

I agree. They look small, difficult to clean, not much ventilation & did not see windows for light. It looks like it would make a better play house than a chicken coop to me.
