If I ever get these last 3 horses sold I will have an empty barn with 3 10x12 stalls and a birthing stall that is 24x12. Tack room....10x12 ...10 ft wide breeze way and then the wash bay I use to process chickens.,,.or did. But I can't talk hubby into putting chickens in it.....I think it scares him that my chicken math will go willy nilly.

Oooooh... I would DEFINITELY go willy nilly with that much space. Your birthing stall is bigger than my whole coop.

If I hadn't used the pressure washer, I would've had to get a chisel. Don't think Tommy is going to allow me on craigslist for awhile. lol

My next purchase will be near the end of the year. Going to buy an incubator for our guineas. I think I'm going to take a swipe at trying to collect their eggs. They are only 3 months old now - trying to get their voice. I can hear at least one female. *crossing fingers. Next month we are going to let them out of their pen and see if we can get them to go back at night.

That was disgusting. I've showered twice, and I still smell it. blech.

Wow I miss 4 days and it's almost 300 posts...

As for the picnic, unfortunately I won't be able to make it as we will be driving back from vacation on that day.

hi Everyone in East Tennessee. I am looking for bantam breeders or people who have bantams that want to get rid of a few. I am looking for chicks, eggs or adult birds. All bantams. I have some standard breeds that I am willing to trade or am willing to buy if the price is right. I started out thinking I wanted standard birds Until I got my first banty. He was a cochin mix. Loved that little bird. Now am breeding silkies, d'uccles, Old english and some cochin silkie mixes. I love the little birds. I am having a hard time finding anyone close to my area that has them. so if anyone knows any or has any let me know. My standards are speckled sussex hen, a game rooster(very pretty) , could probably get rid of some amerucanas. I m trying to get ready for the spring so I can open up my poultry business.

Good morning folks! I was wondering if anyone on here would be bringing chicks to the Knoxville show? I hope its alright to ask in here. I just realized due to where I live, I have to order 9 bantam chicks even from My Pet Chicken. I am not ready for that many and they don't have some of the breeds I am looking for anyway, so...... Am I stuck before I even get started?

Here are some of the ones I am looking for.

Golden Buffs chicks (since they are sexable)
possible pullets= Golden Sebright, Silver Duckwing Old English, Black Old English, Partridge Silkie (might have a hook on one)

Thanks

Next time you order chicks try Ideal Poultry All You have to do is spend 25 dollars and they have alot of different varieties including the seabrights, old english and the buffs. THEY ALSO SELL SILKIES i know because I have ordered some from there. You don't have a min of chicks just money and shipping is not too bad or expensive.

You're best bet is to wait for spring, when it's warm and you'll be able to order the minimum 3, just know the shipping at My pet chicken is up there in price... def for just golden buffs (IMHO) and you're going to run into breeders who have already downsized for winter and won't have adults for sale til next year and most hens are starting to slow down with the decreased daylight hours... I know I haven't gotten an egg in almost 2 weeks...

I think TNBarnqueen just offered up some birds for sale, hers are d'uccles, but I'm not sure if she still has them or not... What do you mean by poultry business?

I know on the laying my hens quit laying about 3 weeks ago except for bantam barred rock. She is laying every other day for me.

But I agree with you on waiting until
spring. I have some I bought locally and the cold is just nasty on them. So like most I am waiting until spring to order new chicks from the hatcheries also there will be more available in the beginning of spring.
