Argh...my fertility rate is crap. I have 2 peeps running around and 2 more pipped out of 12 eggs. 2 wellie over cuckoo and 2 wellie over olive egger.
Hoping the shipped ones do better....
hopefully it was just a fluke.

Any one looking for a sussex roo (he is about 25 to 35 pds) named bubba and his girlfriend she is a sussex hen who is just about to reach laying age. Am willing to trade for bantys for them or sell them for 40 to 50 dollars. If I don't he may end up in our freezer . I don't want that. So asking anyone on here before I list them on craiglist.

Boy do I know who to hook you up with... She is in love with Sussex's and I just gave her all my bantams. She isn't on BYC though... one of my oldest friends. PM me your email and I'll fb it to her.

Oh, I can sex the crap out of SLWs!!! I did it once at TSC and got my 3 pullets, an did it at some dudes house and got 3 pullets and 1 cockerel (which is what I wanted!)...
Im taking you with me next time I get chicks. I seem to be pretty bad. I thought I had wing sexing down but not so much. Last time out of 5 I picked 3 roosters!

Yeah! Talked to the Orpington guy... when u mentioned loft at holly lane knew who he was... I can't justify spending $9 a chick on unsexed chicks I'd be broke buying 6 and there is a large chance with my luck he'd grab mostly cocks.. he wanted more for his pullets than I ask for my show rabbits...
Eta: I guess it'll be spring after saving up before I find anything I can afford, I have to keep in mind the cost of feed and everything else... I just spent a bunch of money buying oxine, peremethrin, valbazen and ivermectin. I still have things I need for the rabbits like sulmet and boric acid to cure my mini rexes sore hocks.

So I have a question about poo....don't know anywhere else I could start a sentence like that and it be ok. :) I have a welsummer X EE pullet and I'm concerned it might not be feeling well. She acta OK, but poo the color of light carmel and the consistancy of eatered down pudding just doesn't seem normal. I'm not on expert on chickens (would like to be!), but that doesn't seem right.

Diet consists of regular all flock type pellets and and crumbles by Purina. What do you think.....any ideas or suggestions?
