If you get tired of my weekly updates on the Orps please let me know. They are now 5 weeks old & outside in their new house. The temperature seems to being holding very good so far. I turned the heat lamp off today & just put it back on (I have a dimmer switch hooked up to it so I can adjust it). I am still holding out for my initial call of 3 to 1 but am having doubts.

As always I updated their folder with more pics.

The blacks: questionable on left, pullet on right


The blues: standing head up in back cockerel & head down in front runt (pullet?)

If they were mine... I would only have the light on durring dark hours

Well, I think I'm going to take that bird cage off of CL and just store it in the barn until spring, and try again... Got 2 people who messaged me over it, the second one told me after a few measurement details that she just got a ring tailed lemur but the cage price was out of her budget... Ok?

That is a sign of a great pet owner..... NOT!!! (I'm not going to snap, I'm not going to snap)

Marans? He looks pretty good. Where did you find him?

ETA he has a good chest and his comb is better than most Marans I have seen. I don't know much about Black Copper color, though. I'm a Wheaten fan.

I pulled the ad 30 minutes ago...

I hate dealing with people.. yeah, that's why I kept talking about waiting til spring! I'd really like a BYCer get it... so then I know they'll actually use it and not try to take it to a sale and try to sale it for more after talking me down on it...

If my life settles by then, I'll be all over it. I just don't know what my future holds right now. And I would be putting a 6-7 inch tall Conure in it. Not a lemur that should be in the wild... (I'm not going to snap, I'm not going to snap)

Now that I caught up... here is what I did tonight. Please don't judge me... I wish it was better but I never used a dremel on anything, let alone a pumpkin. Next one will be better.

And sorry for the blurryness.... my camera wouldn't shut it's shutter until much later. Hard to stay still.

Turkey? That's better than my measly looking faces I attempt to carve into an orange gourd. Mine usually start out as a Jack O' Lantern and turn into Jack O' pumpkin pie.

I bought six chicks at a day olds . Ended up with 3 hens and 3 roos. He is the best and the only one I kept. Plan on breeding him to those three and 3 that are Bev Davis / Wade Jean bloodlines. Hope to hatch out alot in the spring.

Its what I was thinking unless we have a very cold day. Okay one more trip outside to see how they are & I am done for the night.
