stacy...

you know that guy in GA that is really funny and did a lot of videos and wiring diagrams on incubators? I can not for the life of me find him anymore on youtube and can't remember his name. I thought you might remember seeing some of his videos? I wanted to post his vid of the incubator because his design is more of what I have done in the past.

I will bring all the junk: cups, plates, napkins and forks/spoons. My husband is coming. Whoo-hoo!

I would be happy to bring anything else if needed.

I am excited to meet everyone.

I got an egg!

. My husband was in the ER Sunday with pain. Turns out it was a bacterial infection, not a pulled groin muscle, thank-you Lord. So we did not get all the winterizing done for the animals last weekend and he reminded me he's putting up the run this weekend. So, could someone take lots of pictures and post them--Y'all have a great time and hopefully we can see you in the spring. Thanks everyone for suggestions on winterizing out summer coop. My husband rigged a blind (for lack of a better word). He cut 6mil plastic long enough to cover the upper past of the run twice, loaded a pole the length of the plastic at the top and zip tied it, then put one in the crease to keep it from flapping and allow for a smooth pull. He installed pulleys along the top rafter tails added a rope so i can lower it on sunny days. on the bottom he cut osb to fit and I spent last weekend putting 2 coats of paint on each section. We bought a can 3/4 full of oops paint from Lowe's. I didn't think dark brown would look too bad with the barn red--it's in the rear of the barn anyway. Well, my hubby decided it was not enough paint so he added black and red--I start painting and asked " how did the paint go from dark brown to dark purple"? He kept swearing it was a shade of brown till we carried it out into the sun to finish drying- yep, you guessed it, purple!!

Turns out I can herd chickens! Bret finished the door he added to the summer coop, and when I get home I stand in the pasture with the girls so they can scratch, and herd them back to the coop after an hour. I have to tie the donkey in his stall because he keeps going in the the coop and trying to eat the chicken feed--which is poisonous to donkeys! I'll be really happy when DH can put up the run and run ele. fencing inside our horse fence--too many dogs for me to feel at all safe with the girls alone. Now, how to figure out someway to keep Jay-jay from going into the coop door? any ideas?? even when I remove the feed he still goes inside!
