Hey, y'all! I haven't posted on this thread in a long time, but I just wanted to let you all know what's going on in the Wild, Wild West of Walla Walla, Washington!
Below freezing temps have hit (the other morning it was 14 F when I woke up! BRRRRRRR!!!!!!!) and my duck is very unhappy that her pond is frozen solid! Poor girl was standing on top of it the other day...

The fermented feed has been freezing, so the flock has mostly been eating dry pellets. Today I set the FF bucket under the heat lamp. I also have a heated bowl for them, as both water fonts have frozen solid. Once I figure out how to get an extra extension cord out there, I'll have a heater for the duck pool. I bet she'll be happy about that! Crazy girl went swimming in it when I cracked the ice last winter. Brr... *shivers*
The rabbit water bowls also freeze solid because I have them on the front of the hutch. In the back I have poultry brooder heat lamps to keep them warm. XD
So I think I'm going to get some black Japanese bantams in the spring to add to my collection of chickens. They are small, cute, and will attract attention at the fair and in 4-H!
So that's what's been happening here!
Oh, and one more thing! I started a 4-H blog! If you're interested, it can PM you the website and the username and password to access it. (Username and password are to keep my dad happy. He's one of those people who's all worried about putting personal info on the internet.
