Eastern Washington

Just come down to Clarkston, we rarely get snow for long. But the downside is I start my seeds way to early. I love the snow so I can't join the strike, sorry.

LOL. I love the snow too. On post cards and calendars, and on top of mountains, way over there. :)

Anyone know of any 'local' hatcheries? I am looking for a few different breeds and I don't want to order 15 or 25. Between last Fall's horrible wind storm and a neighbor's dog, I am down to 5 hens. I would like a couple of fun ones. :)
I am still on my quest for fun ones. I got some Ameraucanas and Olive Eggers chicks but now....I would like some seramas. Anyone know of anyone hatching or selling?

Hi there. I do know of a place, but it's a drive. I have a really nice Suburban and room for bringing home lots of things.

It's called Baxter Barn. It's in Fall City, WA. http://www.baxterbarn.org they seem to have some gorgeous ones. There FB page tells what they have currently available. (btw, you can friend me if you want. I'm only a little weird.)

Anway, 2 of my sons are looking forward to the road trip if you want to come.

@MtViewChickMoma When are you going over there? That looks like a fun trip. I didn't see Seramas but they have a lot of other chicks.
Anytime there is a day that is good weather wise. I'm pretty open. I think the person with Seramas on here lives in Spirit Lake, ID. about a 2 hour drive.

There is a poultry show next month on the 19th in Monroe, WA. Which is about 20-30 minutes north of Fall City. There should be seramas and other chicks available at the show.

Hello All, I am not in Eastern Washington but pretty close in Spirit Lake, Idaho. We are about an hour out of Spokane. I just hatched my first batch of Serama chicks on Tuesday the 9th of February. There is another breeder here that I got the eggs from, so if I sell out, I do know where they can be found. She is not on BYC. Her parent birds are Straight feathered, Frizzle and Silkie. They all run together so the babies can be anyone of the three. The feather type usually shows up after a week old, she has told me. Price is depending on that. I hope this helps in your search for them.

Chicken Friends,
Late last fall I had a hen start acting a tad bit broody. I'm now trying to come up with a game plan if this happens again since I think the likelyhood is strong. Have any of you purchased fertile eggs shipped through the mail and put them under a broody hen? Do any of you have Black copper Maran fertile eggs or Cream legbar or Easter Egger fertile eggs that I could get fast? I'm almost at my max capacity for my backyard. Dolly
