Eastern Washington

Wanted to say hi here. We currently live in Auburn, WA but just bought a retirement place outside of Goldendale. The house has an amazing 360 degree view and LOTS of room for critters. We plan to move in 18-24 months. Must fix up and sell this house first. Our oldest son will be living there in the meantime and we'll be going over a couple times a month (including Saturday).
Congratulations and welcome :)

anniesmom, welcome to our place, we're glad you found us. It's probably going to be a scorcher in Goldendale tomorrow, hope you brought the sunscreen!

Rusty hen, we had two girls, who each and one girl, so no one leaves the seat up here without hearing about it! Este-fest, that's hilarious! Nice one!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Well, we went to the advertised ckick sale, poultry seminar and was distressed to find out after we wandered around a while that the chick sale was by silent auction! that should have been advertised IN capitals I think. I had even talked to one of the people in charge the day before, she gave me a rundown of what has available and never mentioned that fact. Is this common? and I'm just not up on the facts? I bid on 5 different batches ( thank goodness I did not win them all. I got 3 bantan barred rocks and a pretty little white splash silkie. They are all about 3-4 weeks old. so we will have to wait and see about sex. The silkie was hatched and raised by a OEB, mom kicked her out when she started to fuzzy feather up.

Rusty,

I went to that show - expressly to purchase chicks or adult birds - since that is what was advertised. I was not going to wait around for the auction to end, so I left empty handed, with all my money. Its a shame too, because the folks selling birds were kids, and could have really used the money.

So - I am still on the hunt for New Hampshire pullets/hens.
