Our girls have really picked up production, we've been getting three eggs a day more often than not. Marie is still taking a break, but I think she's going through a light molt. We're going to have to clip one of Marie's wings, she keeps flying up to the top of the fence. She's the one I worry about because she's very independent, while the other three stick pretty close together.

I got to do a pregnancy pin-up shoot with a friend the other day, it was super fun!



Though I think my expression is more scared than cheesecake...

It looks like the after pic of a WW ll Pinup girl. After the baby comes you will have to do the before one. You truly look surprised to me.

Hi all! I feel like I maybe should reintroduce myself since it's been so long since I last posted! I will try not to be such a stranger

We lost our 2 baby chicks to a dog attack a few weeks ago. It was very sad and hard to deal with. When the owner came to pick him up, he felt so terrible. He got down on his knees to apologize to my daughters & insisted on paying for the chicks, which also apparently included emotional damages. Then the very next day a different dog was chasing our big girls! Thankfully they were all ok, but I decided to fence in a larger area around the coop to keep them safe when we aren't able to monitor them. I'm still not sure where that dog came from, but we haven't had any problems since.

We did go to the feedstore & picked out 9 new babies, they are now nearing a month old, happy & healthy! We got 3 Ameracaunas, 3 Wyandottes, 2 Barred Rocks (I think one may be a roo) & a Black Australorp.

hello chickenwings! welcome back! so sorry for your losses... nice of your neighbor to apologize and make sure your girls (human) were ok!

well my week old girls (chickens) have achieved flight... yikes... flew to the top of their water bottle and just about out of their box, so now they have a baby gate lid on their box... sorry kids no flying out of the box... dogs are not used to you yet, and you would be a little fluffy mouthful!

weather absolutely beautiful here... how about where y'all are? planted peas and sunflowers yesterday...

Happy Sunday indeed! We have a week of good weather ahead of us, a nice treat after a rainy winter here on the wet side!

We have been busy busy busy! The big coop is waiting on a roof, built a breeding pen for my new americauna rooster and 3 blue egger americauna hens, built a lean to for the meaties, burnt the pit, chased off the neighbors cows who ate all my tomato plants, and the various house stuff like cooking, laundry, cleaning, and dishes.

Tomorrow, hopefully, I can start on a coop for the bantam cochins

And my marans hen started laying! So I have 10 layers and get 8 different color eggs! I will post pictures Tuesday.
