Happy Mother's Day!
Maggie, it is a small world, isn't it. It's nice to see your babies out in the grass. It always makes me so happy to show the new little creatures the outside world.
Here's a recent picture of my second batch of babies.

They are all just so cute! I love how all their bills and heads have different shapes even at this stage so amazing. Is it okay if I keep a copy of this for sketching?

chickengarden, Let me just say how adorable your ducks are! How big are they?

lovinchickypoos, You've had the worst luck! I didn't understand if the metal in your leg was something that the mower picked up and if so how did it find its way to your leg? Or was it part of the mower? In any case, I'm sure it was and still is painful. You poor thing, seems like we always get hurt when there's so much work to do, huh?

There's a most welcome spring shower moving through, so thought I'd take the opportunity to catch up on this thread. The fruit trees have been blooming like crazy, and now it's the lilacs. Their delicious fragrance is almost intoxicating. I love it so much. I planted two golden chain trees near the patio, and the walkway goes in between them, and this year they almost touch at the top. They're loaded with blossoms, and will be a beautiful sight in a couple weeks. Grass is growing annoyingly fast right now. I love this time of year.

Hello to everyone!

Rusty, thanks for asking and yes use it for sketching and then post a picture of your work :)
Chickypoo, I am so sorry to hear of your hard run of it. Hopefully things have already taken a turn for the better.
Thanks, everyone, for the comments on my duckies. It's hard to describe how big they are. Five of them are three weeks old and the other five are one month. The older ones are about as big as a size 7 shoe and the younger are maybe a kids size 3?
I have booted everyone else out of my yard except the ducks. The guineas, turkey and especially the chickens do too much scratching and pecking. The ducks just run around looking cute and are adorable when they play in the sprinkler. I've come up with a new saying, "Backyard chickens and Frontyard ducks". He he.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. It's been so nice working in the yard lately because it hasn't been too hot.
