Eastern Washington

Im not even sure. The westies seem to have oodles to talk about...lol. What do you all breed and raise? I have a Splash Laced Red Wyandotte rooster I bred to my Black Sex Link Hens. 5 out of 6 hens hatched last year and I had a total of around 60 babies. Currently, I have 26 of the offspring including 3 laying pullets and 3 cockerals that are 5 months old

My current flock contains:
3 White Leghorns (the only girls working this season!)
2 EEs
1 partridge Cochin
1 Wyandotte/BR mix (product of my first flock)
3 white Silkie younsters
2 baby partridge Silkies (why, why, why the Silkies
hu.gif
)
1 dark blue Silkie roo
1 black Japanese bantam

Making plans to get better winter layers this Spring as I've had to buy eggs for the first time in a year

Wish list includes Speckled Sussex, Salmon Faverolles (including a roo), Australorps, and Wyandottes. I need to make a separate Silkie pen to clear out some space. They are silly, worthless things but I just love them!!!!

I still have Wyandotte crosses for sale if you are interested. my 3-4 months old should be laying in a month or two and they are easilt told apart from cockerals and pullets :)

I may have to take you up on that and buy a couple. I wouldn't be able to buy them until Fri, though.

I am so bad right now. Goats have been on my mind a lot lately and I've been considering other creatures to try, i.e., turkeys, ducks and geese. I only have a little over 2 acres so I have to be careful! Well, that and the fact that the DH is not at all excited about my dream! There is a lot of work to do to get some shelters built up so that is certainly holding me back for now!

I have 11 hens. Three Orpingtons, two Australorps, two Plymouth Barred Rocks, one Wyandotte, a Production Red and two Easter Eggers.

My Orpingtons, Barred Rocks and Wyandotte laid really well all winter.

Does anyone have livestock guardian dogs? We just got one and I am so excited.

Now I have sheep on the brain and this spring I really want some ducks and some more Easter Eggers. Oh, and turkeys, too!

I'm in up in Omak.

I noticed that you were thinking of getting ducks. I just got back from a conference in Portland and found that a weasel (most likely) got 2 of my runner ducks... I have one black hen left who might need a new home...
