The thing is that they are Elmer's co workers and their schedules have been clashing. I let Elmer know that I have had about 6 or 7 people email me about the chickens and he told me to hold off because we have buyers. We are trading for a pair of turkeys as well as just selling some. Blondie, my smallest of the red hens has gone very broody on me. Every evening, I have to dump her out of her nest bucket to gather her eggs. lol.

Hi! I am in Priest River, Idaho about 20 miles from Newport, Washington. I currently have only 5 ladies and 2 roosters, but more are coming the first week of April! 100 fry-pan specials and 6 EE chicks.

Does anyone in the Spokane area know a good vet who treats chickens?
Our RIR, Rosie, laid her first egg this weekend, and it resulted in a pretty bad prolapse. We've been bathing her and keeping it moist and treating it with Vetericyn, but I don't want to try pushing it back in because there appears to be something stuck on/in it that won't come off easily. I don't want to hurt her by trying to get it off/out when I don't know what it is or where/whether it's attached. I'm very worried about her. For her part, she's not behaving any differently or exhibiting any discomfort or pain, and really seems to be enjoying the extra pampering of baths and soft warm blow-dries on her derriere.

I will let Blondie hatch some out later in the year. Im gonna go get my moms old rabbit hutch and that is where she will live while she is on her nest and when her babies first hatch so that I dont get an over load of babies again like I did last year. Im thinking maybe april or may, ill let her hatch about a dozen

There are no vets in Spokane that I would recommend that would have a better knowlege of chickens than you or I. I would keep treating her with what you have and keep her in a darkened environment.

I NEED HELP! As in MENTAL help!! Lately, I've been obsessed with researching other species of farm animals. Goats are still definately on the list, but now ducks and geese are being planned for!!! It would be ideal if I could figure out how to make them all mesh and work together so that their existance here will improve our land and help us to be more sufficient rather than a financial and physical burden. Research, research, research!!!!! Geese were one animal my hubby really doesn't want and I was skeptical about....until I read more about them. It sounds like they are quite economical and not usually as aggressive as their reputation suggests!

Goat math has struck me. I now have 4 goats and one may be pregnant and I have my name on a list for an Alpine/Nubian kid who should be born in March or April.
Also, on Thursday I am hoping to get 3 turkeys, 7 guinea, 5 ducks and some more chickens.
