eat a chicken killed by a dog?

no I wouldn't that's nasty. I might but only if it was not already half gone/eaten and/or badly mangled and chewed up cause that's nasty and you don't know where that dogs mouth has been or how fresh it is and its not worth it any ways cause it's already half eaten, just through it out or bury it or something. sorry and I am sorry you lost your chicken but just get rid of it and don't eat it. Please don't eat it.

I personally would not eat it. Simply because of the germ factor. It is possible that the dog may have some contaminate that cooking alone wouldn't kill. That being said, we have pigs, I would probably give it to the pigs if I didn't bury the carcass.

I once ate a hen we had to dispatch after a dog broke her neck. I never ate a hen/chicken after a dog actually ate part of the bird. Depending on what you want to do with the chicken, you could be okay. Obviously, you can't plan on a pretty roast chicken, but you might be able to salvage parts of the dog-killed chicken if you need/want to. No shame in just chalking this one up to a loss and burying/burning it. Chickens are cheap. They're lovely, but they're cheap enough that you can pass on eating a dog-killed bird unless you *really* need/want to.

You could give it to your cats/dogs, or cook it and give it to someone who has cats/dogs. ?? No waste right?

Just so you aren't rewarding the attacking dog for that behavior. Be really careful with that cause you could reinforce that chicken attacking behavior if you didn't handle this situation properly.

Is the neighbor's dog up on his rabies shots? Not even sure if that's an issue. I have a dog that loves to eat any animal's poop, including her own so if she killed one of my chickens it'd be trash. The bottom line is you don't know where that dog's mouth has been.

About five of the many reasons I do not have a dog are in this forum piece. Eat poop? Come on dog people, see the light!

Neighbors dog killed one of my split black lavender orps yesterday, oh how I could rant over that one, but I won't. Anyway it broke his neck, and didn't break the skin before I got it away from it. My beautiful orp is in the freezer now, boo hoo.

Personally I wouldn't eat anything that had been bitten into or partially eaten.
