Eat lobe hanging off

Came home & found my girl's ear love hanging off. Took her inside and cleaned it, by the other chickens think it's a worm and won't leave it alone. Can I snip the skin off or what should I do? Never had a chicle injury before. She didn't wail too much when I cleaned it with q-tips.

EDIT: did some searching and this seems to be a common problem? I snipped off the dangly part, applied a compress of peroxide and put neosporin on it. Separating her from the flock for a couple days to a week, too. Does this sound about right?
