I have 3 girls that have been laying pretty consistently for about 3 weeks. They eggs are always in the nest boxes, except for the occasional egg without a shell that is usually found broken on the coop floor.

So, earlier today we collected 2 eggs. Then this afternoon we were hanging around outside and one of my leghorn girls got real still, made this squatting motion and literally laid an egg without a shell in the grass right in front of us. It was almost like she thought she was going to poop, but an egg came out instead! It was really weird!

Anyway, my question is - since it's perfect - just without the shell, can we eat it?
