eBay eggs...0 development

That’s interesting...we need a special post system for eggs! Lol

I did contact the seller and he was very understanding. He is backed up on orders at the moment but said in a week or so he was going to try to send more. His theory is they were x-rayed.

:fl
That’s totally possible! If zero developed that makes sense...

We've had three shipments through eBay this year. Hatch rates of 0% on BLRW from New Jersey (1200 miles), 30% on DSLBV from Littlefork, Minnesota (760 miles), and 50% on DSLBV from Dubuque, IA (425 miles). We think that the BLRW eggs from New Jersey were X-ray'd, no development. Disappointing, but we did not fault the seller and left positive feedback. The Welsummer & DSLBV eggs we have in the incubator now traveled about 70 miles, in egg cartons, in the passenger seat of a Jeep Wrangler. The gentleman we bought them from happened to be coming our way.

I just googled these birds since I had never heard of them before, and oh my goodness, they are MAGNIFICENT!!!! At nearly $100 a bird for a day-old chick, they are out of my range, but it is nice to know that such a bird exists. Good luck with your hatchings, and do keep us posted! It would be fun to watch these develop!

I am determined to hatch some... but in case I don’t I bought 3 locally from a woman I’ve bought a couple birds from before... hoping I at least get a pair
