eBAY pulled my Muscovy Auction due to MIGRATORY BIRD ACT???

Wow, I don't even know what to say about this. It's strange because it's not like they are endangered and I don't know to many of these birds that fly away from there homes. I can't say that I have ever seen a wild one or ever heard of one migrating but that's just me.

Last I heard about these ducks is that they were not native to the US and that they have populated big time. Wasn't it months ago where the gov. said no more sales of these birds? I really don't get it. Maybe you can list them differently. Good luck.

I can't fathom a BYCer who doesn't want muscovy to go to good homes. Period. Whatever the situation. It's sad and it's intrusive and you would think people had better things to do. *smh*

Yeah I have no idea? Mine ARE SHOW QUALITY, SHOW BIRDS from SHOW LINES...they are far too heavy to fly or migrate anywhere. I am fairly certain they don't migrate in the wild at all? I saw them wild in Central America--and I know they don't migrate from there?

I wonder if leg-banded & pinioned ones would still be considered pets? Who makes this determination?

I think they are considered "invasive" as well? I don't know....I know where I live--even IF they DID fly away (I've owned them for 10 years and one of my original ducks is 8 years old)...and she's never gone anywhere--they would not survive our winters here. And since they don't fly (or mine don't), it would be a heck of a walk/waddle for a few hundred miles to reach a place they COULD survive.

I'd like to know that too. Who makes the decision. And do they even keep backyard or show ducks at all? Probably not. There is a great distinction between wild muscovy and show birds and even our backyard muscovy. People who keep them know that. It's really unfair, period. But the person who reported this crap to Ebay ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Well I just got off the phone with Ebay. Of course the idiot who turned us in, sent Ebay the original law. The 3/2010 law. Not the revision! Of course I just faxed them the revision and they clearly see that FWS says that we can sell the ducks and eggs. I was told that seeing that FWS has no problem with it that their decision will more than likely be overturned.

So to the person who caused this trouble, stick THAT in your pipe and smoke it. He did this out of sheer meanness! Nothing more!

If they restrict muscovies, then they have to restrict mallards, too, if they're going by the same reasoning.

Just an FYI, muscovies are considered officially native to the USA in three counties in Texas so far and are spreading further north.

None of my males can get their fat butts off the ground. My females can fly but they choose not to. They'd rather walk. None of them have ever left my property and I've had them for 2 years. I have 35 acres and they've never even crossed the road! But my guineas sure do!

Ebay said that they need a few days but that anyone that got an email stating that their auctions were pulled, they'll more than likely get another email saying they can list them again.
